I love listening to music and i go to mtv to listen to urban and hip hop not really to watch the videos. The other day i was watching Fat joes video Lean back and i was so shocked my lil sis took of her top and statedshaking her ass and i found that hard to believe but if u look at a any mtv video they r all showing hardly nuttin on there bodys . If they want to show gals shaking their bootys in front of men they shod put it on a totaly different station, or not atall !!!

i think it is showing a bad empression to young teenagers and kids

what do u think ?

BP

That was a lil harsh perhaps?

The TV does have off button but and you can turn it off but can you turn it out at your childs friends house? Can you stop them seeing Page 3 of the sun on their way to school? Or any number of the numerous images of a sexual nature the mass media throws at your children daily?

You cant. The only way to do that is counter it all with proper guidance and morality at home... Teach independant thought and rather than censure show them exactly why its not right if you get me.

Again

we have to strike a balance

Their is only much you can do with censorship

I know for a FACT I can obtain any material of any sort even if my parents have got parental control.

Parents teaching their kids morals is as important as total censorship.

I know plenty of kids who listen to the most crudiest music, yet show respect towards woman, law abiding and do well at school,

Just like me, I listen to rap but I am a totalAngel

I agree with DrunkMonkey your making sence.
It is up to the parents and family and friends around them to teach them the difference between right and wrong and what is acceptable.

Is not easy for paraents to be 100% on track about what their children are watching especiallywhen they are outside the house.however, when it comes to the home i believe parents should have better control of whatever they think is unsuitable for their children to be watch.

that lean back video is nothing compared to the ludacris video. u know the one were strippers have gone wild.

i think its really hard trying to stop ur kids seeing videos dat are just damn degrading. now we see the british artist following in the footsteps of the american artist. just watch channel u at times. girls will be whining up and being plain nasty.

but at the end of the day sex sells and always will.

DrunkMonkey

I most definately agree with you on this one!! Proper moral guidance starts at home!!! The importance of independant thought teaches a child to know WHY something is not correct and so the child will consciously choose to do right and hence choose NOt to do the wrong. You cannot stop your children seeing page three or the sexual content on tv today. You can however, provide them with the tools to distinguish whats right behaviour, through teaching at home.

People demand freedom of speech as a compensation for the freedom of thought which they seldom use.

Greetings All,

Further to earlier comments, I think it's the responsibility of the whole community to teach (but not preach) our children right from wrong.

If we all make a big enough effort then the children will (hopefully) not follow these misguided video youths (male and female) into making the same mistakes and videos like these will become a thing of the past.
