Sometimes i get so sick of being a black woman in this society. If it's not somedumb ass conversations about light-skin vs. dark-skin, weaves, baby fathers, interracial dating then there is no conversation. Let's talk about how our black community is falling apart due to our ignorance and lack of self love for our people. We are such petty people we don't see how we give white people the power we possess. Our music, our culture, our beauty, our everything is copied, sold, and bought by these people yet we still feel the need to debate amongst ourselves about dumb shit. Let's talk about the real. Sometimes i just feel like what's the point of being in this society. I'm in america where everyone wants to be white but in turn really want to be black with white benefits. I go to Africa where people there think of white people as their gods and try to be like them with bleach creams. Where is the love? Why can't we as people get it together and pull each other in, instead of stepping on each other's toes. They've trained us well. Im an African in a society where if you call a Jamican an african they get offended, or since my name is african to be made fun of or no sort of attempt to pronouce it correctly,yetmost white people do. I don't get black people any more. Im an 1980s kid and sometimes I wish I was born in the 70's where black people had soul, stood for something and were black and proud. It's Just My Thoughts!

So the title of this topic was really a misnomer. you are not really sick of being black. you are sick of the attitudes of certain black people. Just to qualify your statement. I am also sick of the attitudes of certain black people, but i do not generalize. I know the same we have some ignorant idiots, but we have just as many intelligent, thoughtful hard working ones who want to make a change and find solutions. I could never be sick of being black. On my worst days i sometimes think its theonly goodthing about me!!

YOU ARE NOT DEFINED BY OTHER PEOPLES\' OPINION OF YOU!! ;0)

@ Drunk

bighairlol

@R101

I don't know what this is about.confused3..but several things come to mind after reading your thoughts .....

This is one of the saddest posts I have ever read at an All-African site.

Our ancestors caught hell as do many of our present day people around the world...and not one of them are on record as saying they wish they were anything but....

Plus there are many of us doing our thang, ...raisinghealthy families, running our own businesses, working hard for a living,despitethe many challenges we face because of who we are, without entertaining YOUR kind ofthoughts....

....and you have the cheek to come here talking about how conversations about weaves, and skin tone are making you sick of being a black woman!

Shame on you!

If the moderators have sorted out arrogant whiteys in this black forum impersonatingblack in the first place, stupid thread like this one would not had existed, would it? These people should not be given any breathing space to promote white supremacy over Blacks. Delete their postings/threads a.s.a.p otherwise they will keep coming in large numbers.

What areu talkingabout obal85. I am a black 24 year old female that deals with this ignorance on a regular basic. This is how I am treated. This is what I experience and these are the kind of conversations I hear all the time. I mean I'm not really sick of being black that was to harsh of a statement i just wanted to get my point across but I am sick of us not building each other up.

What are you going to do to "change the game"? I'm from the Y generation (1980's) as well. Instead wishing what you weren't why don't you change the game, surround yourself with blacks that think like you do,make others rise to your level.You gotta set the example instead of expecting others to change first.

One isn\'t necessarily born with courage, but one is born with potential. Without courage, we cannot practice any other virtue with consistency. We can\'t be kind, true, merciful, generous, or honest.

As in the Matrix; it is not the spoon that bends it is your mind, change has to come from within expecting others to change is like expecting a stone to say I love you. If you change others will see it and some will follow suet.

Why did you lie to me?=====Because I thought you trusted me!!
