Sick of being black, for one so young (under 25's Village) well you've possibly got a long way to go unless you sell-out or forget yourself of cousre. Such afeeling is natural, a rites de passage, embrace your blackness.

Those issues mentioned are the ones unfortunately some spend the most time debating but it would be around for a while because it has taken thousands of years and a master plan (e.g Willie Lynch) to make us so fragmented and divided and you have to understand that Africa has thousands of tribes and never been truly united it was the Slave Masters and Colonialist that brought them together for Administrative purposes and when they left civil wars became the order of the day till today .Same happened in the India,Balkans and Russia so its not an exclusive African thing
Seems you didn't learn anything positive from your travels to the Caribbean and Africa and that is a first every black person that has been from the diaspora have had some sort of renewed cultural awareness maybe you just wanted to stir things.As someone mentioned in your backyard New York is so embedded in black cultural identity I love them folks out there.
So what's wrong with being black people and embracing the different cultures and experiences we all have ?? unfortunately those too lazy to know their history ruin it for a lot simply because they still wallowing in negativity ,bitter against the system,blacks and just about everyone else.Sad thing is a good number of Blacks easily fall into this category .
Corporate world is cut throat everyone is out for him or herself be it from any race i have seen it you should see what white folks do to each other its a numbers game its all about profits and more profits.Its the wrong place to be looking for Black solidarity to be honest you just hang with the ones that want to period but do not EXPECT.
As you noticed after a few years there are some positive black folks on this board working hard making a difference and you can see the variety of topics covered we are not just bothered primarily with those issues you mentioned and stay online you might learn a thing or two that black folks are not a one trick pony.
And for those who are sick of being black first you have to immerse yourself in your African cultural heritage the good the bad and the damn ugly and how we came to be all over the world . Don't be feeling sorry for yourself making comparisms to other races their experiences are different they fought for thousands of years to be where they are .Think of how you as an individual can make things happen do you patronize black businesses??are you registered to give bone marrow or a donor??do you present a positive image for the black race??do you respect your fellow black or stereotype on images passed down to you ??
My groups of friends aim to make a positive impact in this society and staying true to ourselves not trying to be anything else because primarily we are Africans period and our achievements would be seen as such a testament to what black people can achieve.And please stop equating wanting a good education and wanting the good things in life with being white are we saying black is associated with Squalor and misery ??
What we need to do is get away from our over blown expectations ,self pity, want respect want this want that !!Personally It makes me more resolute that I expect no one to give me anything first as a person and as a black man in the west .I probably wouldn't have achieved half as much my parents drummed it into my head 'there's no easy ride in life' just look at Oprah and Nelson Mandelas earlier life.
Besides Multi Culturalism is a fraud i have seen more hatred and mistrust within all races in recent years nowadays its like a crime for whites to love being White ,Black being Black and Asian being Asian what's the biggie people should be allowed to feel free in their own skin and not some media hype
This is why i would always survive and make a good living anywhere in the world as an African and not get bogged down on all the negatives associated with us .
I just had to chip in on the so many light skin girls in video so what? majority of white videos are full of blond girls but the dark haired girls always get the respect would you rather be seen half naked writhing all over the floor up on the pole showing all your crack get over it.As if this videos serve as some sort of cultural advancement don't they call them video hos??
In Africa White people are tourist and of course people follow them religiously to get that money but to say they see them as God please!! i get the same treatment too because they know i flew in from the West you must be having a laugh!!
We cannot change the past but we sure can change the future and who are the cultural icons of the 21st century Nelson Mandela and Oprah aren't they worth celebrating or are they no longer 'Black' to you.

Being 30 and looking many years younger. And when I see my sister and brothers who are nearly ten years older, and yet look the same age as me, I've got plenty to worry about.

I also hate the fact that I can walk down any street at night and know people will ALWAYS fear me than me them. Makes my life difficult, being less likely to be attacked and all.

Oh well, Stranger, you can always do what Michael Jackson did to himself. Get a straight lacefront wig. Thin out your lips so they are practically non-existent. Get multiple rhinoplasties so that your nose would look like a sharp cheese grater. Use bleaching creams so you can have nice, pasty, ghostly white skin. Wear blue, green, or gray contacts. Then you would be white. Nothing is stopping you. You can do whatever you want to your body. And when you get crows feet at the age of 35 and your skin starts sagging and wrinkling before 30 don't come crying to anyone of us about how you wish to be black again.

No matter how much negativity black people do and experience there's no way in hell I would want to be anything other than black. What the hell is so beautiful about white? I detest blacks like that.

wow i created this post almost 3 years ago, looking back i realize i was just annoyed with and learning to deal with these issues. i never meant i wanted to be any other race i was just voicing my opinion on my issues and people i was coming across in the corporate world and my environment.

I love being black, I love my history, inner strength, my confidence, wisdom and beauty, skin, hair, lips, dernier, hips, ...lol I could go on forever I am sexy in a crazy way. As a black woman I have everything that the world wants a piece of, though they pretend that is not the case. Another lie the enemy has successfully sold to us - is to make the black man hate himself, hate his brother and sister, make him feel inadequate and crave to be white, or associate / infuse himself with white or ny other race inorder to shed himself.
