I think that though she may be a virgin still... she affected her purity. There are many "virgins" out there who have done EVERYTHING but intercourse... anal, oral.... here in the US we have a term virgin ho. It defines the girls who have been around the block, sucking and getting sucked, fingered and analed... but are still technically a virgin. Sometimes, they get a worse rep than girls who are actually having sex because they try to pretend they are pure when that isn't the case. Virgin and pure ain't synonymous. Same thing, my boyfriend's brother is dating a "virgin" who up until dating him has been a lesbian. Yet she has still had sexual experiences with women... Some virgin!

If she was a virgin for religious reasons then as you have surmised yourself she affected her 'purity', the nature of her soul rather than the physical breaking of the hymen. After all, that can happen in a number of ways not necessarily sexual.

Also in religious terms I wouldnt call a rape victim impure either as she did not betray God with her intentions like your friend did.

Well looking at it from the Christian/Bible point of view, she is a virgin.. why??? because Mary mother of Jesus was called the Virgin Mary, becuase she was never penetrated by Joseph, hence she is a virgin....... although it never mentioned if Joseph ever did oral on her..... but then again in the Bible oral sex is wrong.....

Your friend is still a virgin until she has pentrative sex with a man. Thats how it works isn't it?!

I'm not saying she isn't a virgin... I am not even saying that she is a ho. I am saying that if she CONTINUES sexual expiramentation then she is falsely advertising herself as pure because of the idea that women who are virgins are pure. Orally or anally, she could still catch an STD. And IF she is a virgin for religious reasons, the main point of most religions keeping women pure until marriage is so that the sexual experience could be something special between husband and wife (without any prior experience clouding the judgements of the other person). I think the interpretation of men involved in religions found it convenient to make it read that only womenneed be pure but that isn't the point.

Here is the point... your mother tells you not to eat candy before dinner because it will ruin your appetite... get the analogy? Your friend got a taste of the goods, and now she wants the whole meal. She is ruining her appetite.

Now you cannot protect your friend's virginity because it is not yours to give or to keep. But you can hope that she is safe about what she does. I don't know if you have heard of a movie called "Kids"... it is a twisted movie. But anyway, this girl who is very sexual experienced and her friend who has only had one sex partner one timego to a clinic to get tested for HIV. Guess who comes back positive? The one who only had sex once. Instead of worrying if she is a virgin or not, since you already see that she is having sexual urges, you should encourage her to get condoms "just in case". Because you won't be there when the lights go dim and she gets that feeling between her legs.

And lastly, as far as advertising herself as a virgin... maybe she should just avoid the subject of her sexual status all together. That is her business, and quite frankly, it is none of most mens' business (because a lot of them have been around the block also). My friend was a virgin until she was married, but she was surely not pure (though not a virgin ho either). I think people should learn the difference.
