Can i ask all my black brothas do you think that big women who are size 18 and overcan be assexy as a woman who is smaller?
Im just wondering cos as a big woman myself at a size 24 i still feel that i am as sexy as any other woman and i dont feel the need to expose myself i do get frustrated by men who act stupid when they see me cos im big cos it they fail to realise that i am a person too. blkheadbang
But I wonder If imtalking to someone on the phone and they ask me what do i look like should i have to tell them my size?? or does it really matter
(I mean realistically not all women look like halle berry!!!)confused3

Depends on a lot of things not just you fabric size.
Ultimately your body shape will determine wether you are thick or not.
How tall are you?

CoolMan81 your reply sucked and was all offtopic.gif. Boooooo. I'm a female so I can't answer her question though I don't date fat guys because I just don't. I'm not a skinny girl, I'm thick but not fat but I've been fat before. I think the question varies. Just as I don't date fat guys as personal preference (and because I was raised to believe that guys should not be fat under any circumstances because they are built for manual lalbor so if they're fat something is wrong like laziness, hey this is one of the weird things i was raised to believe) some guys don't like bigger girls. Some guys do. All depends. Heck I also don't date non-black guys again personal preference. I was raised to marry within my race. While I'm kind of obsessive about my body and weight, I think that some women can be very sexy and greater weights and it's all about how they carry themselves. I just want my body to look a certain weight and to wear certain clothes and I know that as shallow as guys are they tend to go for girls with a certain body type and well... I like guys. LOL I'm being silly now.

Should a womans body size matter or not ???
well it depends on what the guy prefers. But to some men, size does not matter because weight can always be lost.
It also depends on where all this weight is. (for ex) if a woman is like big on top (breast/tummy)and is small on the bottom(butt/tighs)....that sorta looks weird (in my opinion). but if she's big on the bottom and small/medium on top...then she might make it. But if she's big all together, once again it all depends on what the man likes.

what about those females who are slim, you know the size 8-10s do you guys overlook them too? From what I understand brothers like a woman with meat on their bones. So what is the 'ideal weight'?

There is no such thing as an 'ideal weight' its all about preference. However, there is definately such thing as an unhealthy weight and by thatI mean too skinny (UK size 8 and under)or too fat (size 18 and over).I also don't understand this myth that black men like obese women. Yes they may like meat on their womens bones but by that I think they mean 'thick' i.e a women with arse and tits but who is still firm and can look good wearing beach wear. Some of the women of our race really need to watch their weight because obesity and diabetesis on the rise. Unless you have gland problems which is quite rare, there is no excuse to overeat.
I have a friend whose family has a history of diabetes. She isobese, yes she is attractive and has never had a serious problem finding a man as she is a sexy and active woman. She said she was happy with her weight but I didn't believe her because I know she has tried every type of diet and they haven't worked so she basically gave up trying (when all she really needed todo was exercise and eat less). Anyway, last yearshe was diagnosed with diabetes and it was due to her weight and faimly history. The doctors had warned her to lose weight many times before but her ears were too hard and it could have been prevented now she is on lifetimemedication with risk of heat attack and blindness.
I think men are attracted to women who look after themselves and I don't think obesity is a sign that you are looking after yourself.

I think it doesn't matter to a certain extent. Some thicker women that I've noticed are even sexier than some of these thin women but as babygirl44well put it, you have a health issue to be concerned about when you're a little too thick. I love all shapes and sizes but I would honestly prefer a thicker women over a thinner one. As regards to men who act stupid in your presence because of your weight- I wouldn't even get frustrated over that because like you mentioned if their mind set is on every women looking like Halle berry- you can bet that their maturity level is real low and you could do alot better than that. As long as your weight is not becoming a health issue for you, keep doing your thing

offtopic.gifDiabetes does not just affect people who are overweight. My family has a history of diabetes, all my Mum's siblings have it (my Mum doesn't), plus her mum had it. Neither of them were overweight at the time. In fact the majority of people I know who have diabetes (and that is quite a lot) are not overweight.

Being overweight does not necessarily mean you are unhealthy. I am a UK size 20/22. I go to the gym, swim and play badminton. I am a lot fitter than some of my slimmer friends/relatives.

Diets don't work and I am testimony to that. The diet industry is just another money making business. In the past Ihave tried countless diets and have wasted a large amount of money going to Weight Watchers on and off over the years. Each time I would lose weight and put it back on plus more. I initially started off as a UK size 16/18. When dieting my weight would fluctuate up and down during the course of the year. When you diet after a while your body gets used to eating such a small amount of food and once you lose the weight it is very difficult to maintain.

When you diet you deny yourself which makes you crave certain types of food even more.

This yo-yo dieting is more damaging to your health than maintaining a set weight. At the beginning of 2004 I decided I was not going to spend the rest of my life dieting and I was going to accept myself the way I am, try and tune in and listen to what my body needs and let my body reach it's natural weight. Initially I put weight on and have gone up a couple of dress sizes but have maintained this weight for the past 10 months. The Christmas just gone was the first Christmas I have not gained weight for as long as I can remember. Having reached a plateau my weight should now hopefully gradually return to it's natural weight.

Unless you have been overweight yourself it is difficult to understand how hard it is to lose weight.

When you overeat there is usually an emotional reason behind it. What I now do if I feel the need to overeat is look at what is causing the feeling and deal with the feeling. It could be because I'm bored, tired, unhappy etc.

By doing away with the diet mentality I am not denying myself certain foods and know I can have anything I want without restriction. This causes me to want them less and I find I make more healthy choices. I came across this website which goes along with my way of thinking http://www.normaleating.com

Back to the topic, I have never had any problems attracting the opposite sex and have never been short of admirers. But when I was worrying about my weight I felt conscious about it and if I was at a club or something and didn't get asked to dance would think it was because of my weight (oblivious to the fact there were plenty of slim girls not being asked to dance). Now it does not bother me and for the first time for as long as I can remember I am content with myself and carry my weight with confidence. Quite often when out with my friends (and they are all slimmer and very attractive) I am the one getting all the attention from the opposite sex.

Yes, I would still like to return to a size 14-16 but I am not going to diet again nor am I going to stop living and enjoying my life to the full.

If a man cannot accept me the way I am, he's not worthmy time of day. @Soulful Sista big can be as equally beautiful and sexy. There are plenty of men out there that do like and appreciate the fuller figured woman. You'd be surprised just how many there are and I big up the guys who don't just go along with what their friends do or the images portrayed in the media.

If you're talking to someone on the phone unless the subject of appearance comes up, why should you tell them what size you are? Would they automatically tell you if they were ugly or say what build they are? To the ones who act foolish and frustrate you, just tell them at least you can do something about your weight, short of plastic surgery they can't do anything about their looks.

I understand that being overweight is not the only factor in contracting diabetes but it does play a part especially if you have family history against you. Her doctor said thatnot being overweight would have lessenedher chances and that's why he was telling her to lose weight. In the UK they are also talking about a future Diabetes Type 2 epidemic due to the rising numbers of obese children.
I also understand that diets do not work and no way am I an advocate of them or try them.I was just saying that she was telling people she was happy with her size when Iknew for a fact that she had tried evry piece of Faddy crap diet from Atkins to Zatkins which showed that she wasn't happy with her size.
The only way to stay at healthy size is to eat sensibly and exercise unless you have thyroid problems, which most people don't have. She said that she was eating less but the problem was that because she was already big, her body was craving a higher than average amount of foodjust to get it trough the daybecause it must take more thanthe recommeded 2000 calories a day to maintain a size 20+ figure. If she had eaten the 2000 calories, cut down on the starchy and sugary food and did the 45 minutes, 3 times aweek exercise that the doctor suggestedshe would have lost huge amounts of weight.
I know many larger women are very attractive, such as Gill Scott etc but it can't be healthy.
