Soon to be 24 and still a virgin - as a christian yeah its tough really tough especially when people your close to are all partnered up and you haven't even got someone to hold. Still I am proud of it and will gladly tell anyone who asks. I've noticed that many females have then pretty much lost interest after hearing that - maybe they criteria that says you've got to have experience to get with them. Without braggnig technically those of us who can hold it should be more challenging. Society says that a love story is likely to be boring without getting it on at some point but I feel I would be bored if I gave it up toosoon. when I give it up it has to be with someone that would not make wanna lok anywhere else. The idea that I'll miss the boat I disregard and say all things will happen in due time.

For all you young folks who have resisted the urge to have casual sex, I just want to say that I am proud of you and so glad to hear it. I truly wish we as a community would do more to lift you up as examples.
I didn't have sex until I was 23 years old. And that was with the woman who became my wife. Don't let them fool you. You aren't missing a thing.

Well, where society fails, "Black" folks need to make up the difference. The older generation needs to stress the importance of taking relationships seriously. We haven't done a good job of that.
But it is so hard to get "Black" people to do anything asa group nowadays.
That's the only way we can have the desired effect.

I would say wait untill you feel ready to do and get prepared. Marriage is long and money-rinsing process. Some end up waiting too long and then become addicted to sex. There was one account of a woman who left her husband because the sex wasn't as good as she expected. Some Christians (as many people would like to place that label on themselves) don't always follow the tradition - depends on how a person feels. Its the 21st century you can bend the rules a bit.

To all of you,
Thank you!!!!!
Thank you for being wise and mature enough to understand that sex isn't the beginning of a relationship. Start as friends. Start as companions and soulmates. Sex can definitely wait. But you can never start early enough when cultivating a real relationship with your boyfriend/girlfriend. Because if that relationship doesn't work the whole house will come down. You must have a strong foundation. And that foundation must be built on something stronger than just lust.
You young people should be proud of yourselves. Never hang your head. The cowards that make fun of you couldn't walk in your shoes. Everyday that you live as wise, intelligent, and mature young "Black" people, you make us stronger.

You should be ashamed of yourself for losing your virginity at 23. What were you doing during your teens?
