Hi Peeps,
i jus wanted to have a little debate about sex, because it seems as though people are losing their virginity at a younger. However, there must be those who have still yet indulge in promiscuity. Would you, if u were, admit to being a virgin?
Have you been in a relationship, and the girl/boy that ur not a virgin, only to be discovered later on, or only to then run when it came to the point of having sex?
What are you views in general...?
Holla at me peeps.

I would hav no problems tellin anyone i woz a virgin coz i think itz a good thing! Although im not a virgin i would prefer to be one coz i dont belive in sex b4 marriage (Im a Christian)- although i kno thatz (a lot) harder said than done. But being a virgin is something to be proud of (whether ur doin it for religious reasons or just waitin for the right person), it is something to be admired. Of course sum people may feel they have found the right person at a young age like 17 (where it is still seen as quite uncool to still be a virgin) and i think as long as they hav lost it to please themselves and not to giv in to peer pressure or curiousity (...not sayin i werent curious..) and because they think they hav found the right person (even if they later find themselves to be wrong about that person later on...), that they will be likely to be happier with the memory of how they lost thet're virginity. BUT as I say I think the best thing is to wait till u married!..but i kno not every1 will agree

Ur....mmmm But if you think it is the best thing to wait until you are married and you claim not to believe in sex before marriage...How come you are not a virgin? You can't believe in it that much.

There are those who feel that the only way to ‘prove their own worth’ is by ‘devaluing the worth of others’. You will often find that a man who is compelled to measure his substance against the substance of another, has little of substance in the first place!

@ Backatya
As I said I think its is a good think to be a virgin and I do not believe in sex before marriage. I did not say I woz able to do no wrong. Now not being a virgin and saying its a good thing to stay one till your married does not mean I think less off myself or anyone else who is not a virgin specifically coz they're not a virgin.
In my post I stated that i would PREFER to be a virgin obviously meaning I am NOT virgin and regret losing my virginity. I don't understand why you think I can't still believe in it and not be a virgin - im not sexually active now and that reason is whilst i don't believe in sex before marriage i haven't tried to justify it within myself and say "well..might as well keep doin wot im doin...it dont matter no more".
Im sure that you may hav done something that may go against something you belive and be dissappointed in yourself. If you haven't, I'll let you know now that are many there are many people out there who have.
I accept that im not a virgin and love myself and at the same choose not to throwaway my beliefs because of that.

Ah, now I get you. You are really saying you believe in it now but did not believe in it to the same degree at the time you made the mistake of losing your virginity. Yeah that makes sense.

There are a lot of things which with hindsight we wish we had done or not done. That is not to say that we cannot hold them as principles after the event. Sure, you cannot be a virgin ever again but that does not mean to say you cannot hold as a principle, and proclaim assuch, the belief that sex should be left until after marriage. Where it would become a nonsense is where yousay it and then continue to have sex outside of marriage. Then it would become hypocritical.

You are right, there a principles which I claim to believe in but which in the past I had erred on. However, now that I claim to believe in them I do so on the basis that I do not err on them again, otherwise I it seems a lie to say believe in them....unless I am saying I believe in them for others but not for me

I was almost 19 years old when I lost my virginity! The girl I was with was 26 years old, so I guess I made up for lost time. I was pretty embarass that I stayed a virgin for so long and I hid it all through high school.

I'm almost seventeen and still a virgin. My older sister lost her virginity at nineteen, and my younger one is fifteen, so hopefully she hasnt done anything yet (I dont think she has). My parents brainwashed us all into waiting for "the one," which isn't necessarily who we're going to marry (hopefully he will be) but yeah, I admit it. I don't go around shouting it, but if I'm having a convo about sex, yeah, I admit it.

I ADMITTED THIS IN A CONVERSATION WITH SOME BOYS IN MY CLASS AND THEY WERE SO SHOCKED. I THINK ITS SO SAD THAT PEOPLE CANT EVEN BELIEVE THAT A GIRLS A VIRGIN ANY MORE.
IDONT ACTUALLY SEE ANY RELEVANCE IN BEING A VIRGIN LIKE OTHER PEOPLE DO. ITS MORE ABOUT THE ATTITUDE, AND THE PART SEX WILL PLAY IN YOUR LIFE. PLUS MAKING ABSOLUTELY SURE YOURE HAVING SEX FOR THE RIGHT REASON.
I SAW A POLL THE OTHER DAY THAT SAID 8/10 PEOPLE REGRET THEIR FIRST SEXUAL EXPERIANCE.

There has been and always will be that double standard between the sexes and as women I think we should just get over it... A guy that screws twelve chicks in one night will always be a stud, while a woman that sleeps with two different guys in a month will always be a whore,in the eyes of society anyway.Life is not fair ladies .....Alot of women of all races still feel as though they have to front when it comes to their sexuality. It will always be that way ;we as women have to change theway we let men control that part of us at times... The minute we stop letting men make us feel dirty for doing the same thing they have done for years is when women will reach true sexual freedom!
