Last night my boyfriend and I were talking and I told him I had some 'business' to handle. He asked me what and I told him I had to "go." Then he said to me, "dont talk or text me til friday you coulda said sorry it took so long, period. So leave me alone. I'll text you friday morning, you goin to learn. Bye, bye." This Upset VERY, VERY much.

SO, he put me on verbal "Time Out" and I find it rediculous. Was I in the wrong to be pissed off, or should I just sit back and take this "Punishment" like a Soldier. Please Help.

And by the way, Im new on here!! Just signed up a few minutes ago!! I'd appreciate the help!!

Reason I asked is because rarely do I read something so petty and childish... It's the behaviour of an 8 year old.

Verbal time out? The fact that he gave it a silly and pretentious name only speaks more to how pathetic it all is...

You both need to learn how to talk to each other but first of all cut out the nonsense.

Yeah... and the thing about it is, he seems to think this is "Normal." I tell him it's silly, and try to get in contact with him, but that doesnt seem to matter. He ignores calls and won't text back, so there is no point. All I can do is wait until he finally decides "I've had enough." It's VERY aggrevating and it drives me crazy. This isnt the first time he's decided that Ive needed time to think about what Ive done.... It's getting rediculous.

From my side of things it's quite funny... but I can see where you would be annoyed. Well when your punishment is up you can explain that you are not a child, he is not your parent and in no position to be punishing you. Also that he is an adult and that avoiding talking to people because they upset him is not how he should be conducting himself.

You could also point out that you are entitled to not mention everything and keep some secrets but then that only works if you are prepared to accept the same scenario from him. Either way he shouldn't be sulking like that, makes him look silly.

BTW when you do confront him, do not let it show that you have been upset by it. You need to take moral high ground and let him know how silly he was and what a child he was being. If you act like it upset you and you are sorry and suitably punished, you will just show him that it was a succesful strategy
