Well Done rastawoman. Someone with courage and principles will always encounter detractors.

I would and have done the same thing myself. I have people who form circles around incidents or lack any sense of humanity.

You are to be commended.blkclap

First of all, Well done. You are a fantastically brave person and I applaud your courage.

You remind me of my mum. Despite how other treated her, she would always do 'the right thing' - she would not think of people as her 'enemies' but would always fight bullying and racism in whatever form.

Now having said that, I have seen a million and one times when I and others defend asians from racism from whites. At school, work, etc i have seen it so many times.

I have never seen an asian defend a black person from racism, and secondly, many times I have seen asians who have been defended from racism by blacks have themselves gone on to commit racist acts. I have seen this so many times now it is getting to be a joke.

In the UK some whites genuinely don't like asian people, but like blacks due to similiar economic circumstances.

Personally I would have done the same as you, but I should warn you that in the UK people often call up cousins and the like and you could have been attacked.

Nuff respect though, but think about what people are saying- don't think that asian people would ever do the same- and don't trust whites, blacks, asians or anyone else.

ok i may get stoned for this but rastawoman only did what came to heart we as blacks are always looking out for the weak even though asians dont see us as equal but its not important how man sees us god is the judge and we as gods choosen people do as we where created to do and that is to love all and protect and help those who are in need or those who are on the weaker side of the stick in due time the world will see who is the true choosen and the hand of god will judge the wicked

You do realise that the woman who created this thread wrote this over a year ago and has maybe even since left the forum

I'm still around sometimes, just haven't looked at this for a while.

Reading over this today has shown me how naive I really was when I first landed. I saw something that day that I had not experienced b4. I've been here for over a year on and off and have witnessed quite alot of racism, but I still stick to my beliefs, if I see anything happening infront of me I will speak up, I can't take that kind of behaviour and ignorance.

This country takes a bit of getting used to, but I know I have matured since first reaching here, you have to grow up when you move away from mummy lol. Quite funny reading over this again

Respect

I have problems with this..........

Not with the incident, with you.

1. Why did you take it up on yourself to defend an Asian when if it had been reversed, she would not have defended you?

2. If the INDIAN MAN did not do anything, to help the woman, why did you?

3. Why did you risk yourself to an attack simply to get something off your chest, what if the burly white woman had other people with her you did not know about while you were defending the Asians?

4. Why did you post your defense of asians on blacknet?

I am not knocking you, but you really should pay attention to who you defend....
Is it possible that not everyone is fixated with race?

Is it possible that maybe she didn't see an Indian women, but a PERSON, a HUMAN BEING like you and me, being verbally abused and didn't stand for it?

Do you always pick and choose who you feel sorry for based on race?

If I see someone who needs help, I'm gonna help them, but maybe that's just me. You obviously see this as naive, but I seeit as caring about the society i live in. But I guess that's where me and you disagree.........

If the OP wasn't fixated on race, why did she feel the need to keep referring to the woman as the "burly white woman?"

If the OP wasn't fixated on race, why did she feel the need to refer to the cashier as Indian rather than just "the cashier?"

Two wrongs don't make a right. Just because the customer was behaving ignorantly doesn't give the OP the right to call her a "B%##?" The situation could have been addressed in a more couth manner or not at all.

For one, the whole point of my post was that the woman behind the till was being abused BECAUSE she was Asian, would it have made any sense if I hadn't added the race of the people involved?, and secondly, yes I insulted the white woman because she was an ignorant bitch and deserved insulting.

Just to add, I didn't feel like being "couth" that day
