K, know ur opinions on piercings, what do y'all think of tattoos? On male or female, young and old. I got 4, but they all mean something to me. I know a few people younger than me who have got something because it looks 'cool' and a few months later think 'i wish i got something else'. Sometimes they dont think it through properly and unaware these are gonna be with them the rest of their lives (well they should its a tattoo).

Feeling a lil lazy, so i just copy and pasted parts of a reply i gave to a poster in the advise section!! but it pretty much sums up my opinion and experince of tattoos. i am glad yours have a significance to you. Too many people do it for the wrong reasons.
a tattoo ain't nothing but a pretty scar.
As it is permanant, at the very least it should be of something that holds some significance to you, preferably a PERMANANT significance
mine is on my ankle so is easily concealed if i so wish. it is about an inch square and is of a butterfly. This is a significant symbol for me done for my own personal reasons and at a significant time in my life. when i look at it i am reminded of those things. To be honest, 90% of the time i forget its even there!! and now that winter is coming it will be mostly covered up. My sister has three tattoos. Two are in chinese - one means strength and the other is her name. And she knows for a fact it is her name because some chinese guy called out her name and she asked how he knew and he said it was her tattoo!! (there was a story a while back about the rapper eve having a chinese tattoo and the word meaning something different to what she asked for) the third tattoo my sister has is of her sons name.
YOU ARE NOT DEFINED BY OTHER PEOPLES\' OPINION OF YOU!! ;0)

My sentiments are pretty much the same as madam butterfly's on this. I have one tattoo and it has three very seignificant meanings to it: life, god, and me. I know all of these things because I designed it myself from scratch and that also makes it that little bit more special to me. I know there aint someone else walking around with my history on their arm lol!

Women with too many tattoos might as well have a dick, such is there power to repel me
Dont care for significance either

When you see the definition of 'Mulatto' below, you will see why its very important that you know the full meaning of words or symbols before you get them permanently branded on you. Plus surely you are underage for a tattoo? sorry to sound like a moany old woman but I thought that I had to address these two issues.

Aperson of mixed Black and Spanish ethnicity. Mulatto (also Mulato) is a term of Spanish and/or Portuguese origin describing first-generation offspring of African and European ancestry. Formerly a feminine form, mulattress was formed on analogy with "negress." The forms "mulatta/mulata" survive in Spanish and Portuguese. Thus, though many Americans of Hispanic and/or Latino origin identify themselves as mulatto, the term is rarely used by non-Hispanic African Americans.

I don't want to discuss the last post. I'll just say that I just got my first tattoo about a month and a half ago. It is on my forearm (I know, weird place for a girl). It is my son's first and middle name (Jacob William) with a crown above it. It was VERY painful. Therefore I will not get tattoos for leisure. Since I have his name though, it would only be fair if I got all of my future children's names also. LOL, let's hope I do not have a bunch of children.
Proud Mother to Jacob William born 1/29/2005.
Come on 1st birthday come on!
