Some people might hate on individuals from bad experiences but Ive never really faced any hate before coming from Ghana living in states i usually get good vibe from people but most people say where loud and we like money but i dont take it to heart

My mother is East African and my Dad's West African, and many times I get to experience how prejudiced people from both sides can be. Many Africans are surprised when I tell them my parents are STILLhappily married. Few days ago I really told off this Nigerian guy who tried to chat me up. When he asked me where I was from he said: "Oh, how can a Nigerian man (referring to my dad) marry an East African! I would never marry an East African! Their countries there are very poor. There's nothing in East Africa." And afterwards he's asking me for my number.

Why? Cos, he doesn't consider me East African, as I was born in Europe.

I don't want to repeat what I told him, cos otherwise I will get in trouble with the mods, but in the end I told him: "It is because of people like you, many of my black friends decide to marry white." If we can't accept our own people why do we bother getting accepted by anyone else?confused3We blacks need more solidarity.

^^^^^ That man was so ignorant....anyoo I have an East African friend who married a Nigerian, her family was against it as they didn't see a Nigerian man as good enough to marry her.......the prejudice, although rare, goes both ways. I also have a south african friend who was adviced only to use her Nigerian boyfriend for money, but that not to marry a Nigerian...........prejudice can be found anywhere.

On the whole, it is very rare as far as I know( east v West)..............its childish anyway.........
