Following London Fashion week they has been a big talks about size zero. For all that are unaware of what size that is it a 6. The UK are having a lot of problems with our overweight society as we oppose health problems but we have all seemed to forgotten about extremely under weight who oppose even more health problems then over weight people do. What do you think of the new size zero or do we think that we are just hung up on what size we think is best?

Personally I find females of that build unappealing. There are always two ends of the scale and I'm glad that some action has been taken on this side of things. While genetics invariably plays a part I believe that you need to combat extremes if you are to have a fairly balanced society.

Why is a size 6 a size zero first of all, when I have seen some shops sell a Euro/Uk size 4?confused3
Someone who is a size 6 does not necessairily mean they are underweight, just like someone who is a size 14 isn't automatically overweight either.
I'm a size 8, but have small bones so I look much smaller (I can in fact fit into some size 6 tops), but I don't look like the girls on the runway. I'm pretty sure most of them are a size 4...possibly 4/6but not a 6.

this obsession with being skinny is not a 'black thing.' u do get the odd strange black girl that wants to look skeletal, but most black women prefer to have some flesh on their bones.
personally i dont really care if white women want to starve themselves half to death - good luck to them.

I see now. At first when BlackBeauty said the run-way models were a size 4, I was like, yeah right. This thread makes more sense to me now.
If we were real citizens, then there would be no need for "Civil Rights". There are already enough laws on the law books to protect the rights of real citizens.

I was thinking an American size 4, not an UK size 4. I knew that the runway models were smaller than a size 4 in our clothes here, but when Melissa showed the comparison of America vs UK sizes, your statement onlythen made sense to me. Your size 4 is our size 0.

Um, what is wrong with being a size six or even a size four? It is possible to be naturallythin without resorting to starving yourself or being a "burden" on the health care system. Should we be hanging our heads in shame because we are not thick?

Indeed!
But I think they are talking about the women whopurposelydiet to be some model stick thin...and Black women do this foolishness too.I know someone who is desperately trying to loose weight. She actually wants to be her height (she is quite tall) and my size-which is actually sickening because if I was really tall I would be severly underweight!

lol....some people are just weird..all this weight obsession is just getting out of hand. Today after work i was in a hurry to do little chating with this stupid colleague so i told her that i was going to the weight watchers meeting so can't chat...she askedwhy i choose weight watchers,i said although i am going to the gym, i feel that going there would help me LONG term with knowledge of food etc.....SHOCK....this thing i don't even knowtells me that at size 14 i am too FAT and i should be doing VERY strict diet like the Aitkins instead.... lets just say what i told her inreturn turned her red and she run back into the office in tears!
Honestly, people are losing theirminds over this skinny, too fat, too big, too god knows what next.......some people even feel that its their divinerights to tell others whatIS the WAY to be orlook...confused3
Its like you can't beskinny/slim/curvy/full figured(delete as appropriate) without someone telling you that there is aCERTAIN way you are supposed to look to beIN....although what they should really be saying isthat, thats THIER own personal choice, not what you personallyis ok with or others for that matter.
Having puton a bit more weight recently, i have noticed how people actually take it PERSONAL like if it has anything to do with them Its like if they don't like it, i must also be very unhappy....they just don't understand why i am fine...lol...i am not that bothered because i knowwhat i am doing to get back to my old shape and i have far more important things to worry about rather than losing sleep over pounds.
It has taken this for me to really understand the point Aryek is saying here....perhaps its not the so called size6 or 12 or 16peoplehave problems with, its really us who are trying to live our fears in others....confused3
Oh well, what do i know...:?

You are probably going to think that as a man, I have selective reading in my comments...but you should put up a picture of that size 14 azz. I'd love to see, as would many others.
