What I don't understand is this................the man had a knife,there's a bus full of passengers,ok let's just say when you witness the first couple of stabs with the knife you're paralyzed with shock and don't know what to do..............but at some point don't some of the passengers try to over power the man???.2 men could have taken him down or 3 normal sized women,why did noone do anything???


Don't get me wrong ,i'm no hero, coz if man had gun i'd be running in the opposite direction before the next bullet had time to leave the chamber...........but this man only had a knife,I know in my heart that I would have been willing to take the risk of a few scars if other people would help me.

I guess fear makes peeps do ill things at times.

He had like a big butcher knife. They always taught us that if a person has a knife expect to get cut. So for a normal person witnessing this, they just got the hell off because they were not trained to stop a person with a knife.

I can't blame them in a way because at least they got brave got weapons and would not let him off the bus. If they had chose the other route at least one more would have died and others would have been injured.

I heard about this and expected to find it was an urban myth...then realised it really happened (still haven't seen reports on TV news though).

JB I normally step in to break stuff up but hell no in that circumstance. That stuff wouldn't just have made me wary, it would have scared me shitless and I would have been outta the damn window. It's not just somebody with a knife, it's a mad man with a knife who doesn't seem to give a ****. Crazy people scare me. I would have probably been like a rabbit in headlights and just stunned.

So the impulse was there..for someone.......but noone had his back? After witnessing peeps reactions to this situation I think people-myself included-would be less likely to do anything coz we know we're not getting any support.

I noticed when I read this article yesterday that the victim was wearing earphones.

A girlfriend and I were discussing it today and she put forward that the man may have snapped coz this person had his volume up too loud and it was shit music to boot.
I had a similar fleeting thought but didn't mention it til she brought it up.

There have been many a time when i've been in a relatively enclosed space bus/underground whatever where some mofo is blasting his pod/mp3 so loudly that I can actually hear it through my headphones or God forbid I don't have my mp3 with me that day and I have to endure it until either they or me get off.I've had many an evil thought about such offenders,in my mind i've probably committed acts far worse than this geezer............difference being I will never act on them.

Begs the question,is there a really fine line between the person who thinks a thing and the one who does it,what perfect storm of circumstances do you think could cause one to go BUCK WILD,big style?
