@iyallah

Yeah i remebered it but it comes into play in so many places I was raised on it too. LOL

I think it needs to come back b/c too many kids get away with things that if I had done I would have no place to live. Hitting a kid is not abuse, abusing a kid is abuse. I can't belive a parent can be done for smacking the kid on the bum, there use to be corporal punishment for gods sake.

Disrespecting elders is at an all time high, if you ask me. I was with my mom at the grocery store just today. I had came in to the store with my mom but I quickly went down another isle so. My mother went to pull a cart out but all of them seem to be stuck together. My mother spotted a loose cart and headed towards it but a worker at the store (a young black woman around 19 or 20) who wanted it to move some groceries to another part of store, grab it before my mom could reach it. My mom told this groceryclerk that she couldn't get the other carts a loose but clerk just looked atmom and went on with her work.

Angry, my mom and myself went to the storemanager.:X

@Iyallah

Sorry I should've made myself more clearer when I mentioned the boys father it was simply to imply it is obvious that the mother can't handle him and he needs some good licks from his fathers belt done by his fathers hand......thats what I meant to say.

@Spice

My my imagine that ........that must be the worst story I have heard in this entire thread blknoway......now why don't you continue and tell us what the store manager said.smoking-devil

people talking about handing out licks to unruly children, I don't necessarily agree. Some people don't 'speak' to their children unless to chastise them. that's what I think it the main problem here. Kids spend too much time on the internet, watching Satelite TV or playing with the flaming play station all these things arepotentially harmful and negative if overdosed on. How about we take all these away, or limit their usage and spend more time talking with our kids,it's OK for kids to have a little free-time every now and again, but too much free-time creates exactly what we see today, unruly bad breed, brockpicknies!

I'm all for childline and all the other things that give kids who are being abused a chance to tell someone! Kids do need rights, and so do parents, they need the right to discipline their kids.

How are they trying to make beating against the law! Nonsense - abuse should be and is against the law. But smacking? nah, sometimes kids need it.

@Lady Stirrer, my mom and I complained to the manager who was one of those layed back, smiling, easy going types, I don't know if it did any good or not because as we were leaving the store, I could tellthat he was disgusting this issue with her. She looked angry and was shaking her head and the manager looked intimidated by her.

I am seeing many black children disrespecting their elders in the same manner that I only witnessed from white children to their elders as a child...
Quote:
@The same is also true in the U.S., When I was growing up it was unheard of for black child to yell at or say I hate you to their parents as many white kids did. It just seems like with the advancement of intergration, black children are taking on the bad habits more and more of children from white society.

I was reading a music mag the other day and one new group was being interviewed and the question of favourite food was asked and right there in black and white showed the white singer to say her favourite food is rice peas and chicken and the two black singers said burgers and chips and kebab ain't that something.

I agree that black kids taking on the negative attitudes of white kids concerning respecting their parents/elders is bad, but that doesn't mean that all areas of cutural exchanges are bad. Like black folks golfing and sking or Whites enjoying the hip-hop culture or wearing their hair braided. Though I do feel the older whites are afraid that they are losing their clean cut preppy white kids to the gangsta image.blktype
