But how do you exactly do so. Too much self confidence can be very intimidating. How much is too much. I am at the moment having this battle of self confidence with my self.

But how do you actually go about loving yourself. Is is something that comes naturally or do you have to work on it. Can I find it by reading self-help books or admiring self-confident friends?

All opinions welcome.confused3

Self help books can be useful, but it is to do with basic psychology. You just need to embrace yourself everything about you from how you look to the person you are. It is not about observing your friends or following society it is about being who you are and doing what you want to do. If your following other things and other people then you are being controlled, you need to control yourselve and be your own leader. It might sound selfish but you know what sometimes in life you have to put youself first.

If you dont know yourself expect to be a victim of what they tell you about yourself

Self love is a process, not and end result.. we all have our ups and downs and its perfectly natural.. Ups and downs can indicate progress as everyone's personality and self image WILL inevitably challenged.. when we learn from it and move on, we become stronger.. continuing the process..

self lconfidence is all about self acceptance, warts and all

practice looking in the mirror and saying this words aloud to yourself

I am the best I can be

accept that like anyone else you have faults but learn from your mistakes

and everyday write down at least 10 good things about yourself, can be anything at all

and AVOID like a plague negative people, they will be there wanting to put you down and make it look like theres something wrong with you...SHUT THEM OUT!!

if you have to arrogant and to do this, do it..don't be apologetic to anyone that wants to put you down, it's not about making friends, if you have one good friend you have more than your share, I tell you

act like your the best thing since toast bread.....and trust me YOU ARE!!

I have a brain and a uterus, it vexes me to use one at the expense of the other

Self confidence imo is something that we all are born with at birth but as some of usget older we tend to lose our self confidence due to racism, the environment in which we were born, growing up in a disfunctional family etc. The good thing is self confidence is something that you CAN definiely work on rebuilding. I should know. Concentrate on your strenghths and learn how to embrace your weakness. Always remind yourself that EVERYONE has weaknesses so your not alone.

It's o.k to admire self confidant friends as long as you realize that you are an INDIVIDUAL and don't get caught up into trying to be just like them. Also the worst thing you can do is to compare yourself with other people. That's a no no!

Finally another thing that is important in building self confidence is having positive people around you. A lot of times those "self-confident" friends can be just as toxic as the ones you consider not so confident. A lot of times they seek out those that they know aren't as confident as them because they build their ego's up. So you may have to ask yourself what position do you play within your social clique and is it really beneficial to you. If it's not than you may have to move on to greener pastures.
