@fuzuan, I thought you were saying that black women will only go for good-looking guys I dont believe that to be true, if not, then fair play. Most women when we get to a particular age look at qualities other than looks, black or white.

do you mean that seriously? denzel washington is the bomb...maybe I'm just a bit biased though but his being decent is definately a plus. the guy is aging very gracefully as well, that guy is the definition of a good looking brother,I tell you

@Seth
You make some powerful and persuasiveobservations but I hope your conclusions are not correct for the sake of black male/female unity and our future.
I thinkwhat say youmay apply to a minority of black men and women butlet's beput things in perspective -most blacks are still dating and mating with other blacks- whetherrich orpoor, ugly ornot ugly.

Fazuan,I am being absolutely serious, he is my favourite actor of all time but I seriously don't find him the least bit attractive (my elder sisters all think I'm blind). Everytime I see him I try to stare at him to see what it is people see, but I just can't (I must say I like his mouth though).

Russell Simmons is not in his 30''s,but in his early 40's.banana.gif
From the interviews and articles that have been written on their relationship,she is more into the money than anything. The reason I come to that conclusion is she claims that she is not satisfied until she competes with him in making money. You
knowshe has her own clothes line ,and she has designed her own trademark cellular phone.
My thing is when you have a man that makes money ," Why are you trying to make Big money?(Millions of dollars). It does not make sense that she is trying to compete with him. I understand that she wants a career ,but if they divorce she will have money anyway because of their children.
People I am not against her career. It just seems when journalists interview both of them whether on tv or magazines she mainly talks about being in control of their relationship and money.

You just have to grow out of it because everyone in high school can't be the most popular stud in school. But for some reason the teasing by women in HS really do affect ablk male's way of thinking.We as Blk men have a lot of pressure on us to be cool, smooth, good with theladies and all that other nonsense that is taught to some of us by our cool and pimped out father's (When we are not like that we are considered wierd)

I know this because my father was the man in HS. He was an old school player who wanted me to have as much fun as he did in HS. Unfortunately, i was not him. I was very shy and reserved. Smart as all heck but could not talk to a women to save my life as a result i never went on many dates in HS.

I hated him so much because my father loved him so much. He was everything my father thought I would be.Don't get me wrong my father was proud ofme and everything i had to over come to get into college and graduate school but deep down insidehe wanted me to be more like him as well. Ok I'm getting off topic here but the ponnit is we need to teach or daughters how to date and give them examples of what a good man is.

All I can say that parents sometimes do not make the right choices, BUT let me tell you that their are a lot of black women like me that activily pursue guys of your nature. The reason being is that we have been bought up correct and look for similar qualities in our men. Personally my group of friends and family will not be seen dead with Pimpin types. we enjoy companionship. All I am saying that you are better of without those triflin women who look for materialistic values they are a minority.

That was a very honest account of your experiences - I applaud your openess. I think we black folk need more of that kind of honesty.
What you've said is far more powerful than the outbursts of resentment thatdog this kind of debate.
