I have a rather eccentric friend who is a Healer and offers her services for no fees.
She has recently had a modest Lottery win and feels she would like to empower others by sharing it.She is tired of constant bad news via the media and a general negativity and disillusionment amongst our fellow man/woman.
She feels there is much good in the world, but those who give it are rarely rewarded or acknowleged for their kindness.
She would like to hear from people who have received unusual amounts of kindness from someone in their hour of need. Or maybe someone you feel just deserves a break and a little Thank You from the Universe.
Every week she intends to send at least 2 people a small financial reward with a note to say they have been nominated for being a person with a Big heart. The identity of the nominee is remains anonymous. Although the gift will be small its true value is in how much it will empower the receiver.
She has already begun this task and I have witnessed how happy it made one particular person who received such a token of appreciation. The good feelings it generated stayed with her for days!
I also think it will be nice for the people on this site to read some positive and happy stories, because good always creates more of the same.
Your stories will be much appreciated and any details of name and address could be privately forwarded to me via pm or e mail. Once a person has been selected their personal details will be immediately destroyed.
Thanks niceone.gif

what a lovely idea Loxy! your freind is very special indeed.
well, here's something that I witnessed yesterday: whilst at a business meeting, an old lady (apparently she was 100 years old) was walking with a walker right outside the office where me and 5 other people were meeting. Anyway, the old lady, lost her step and literally fell head first into the parking lot. We all noticed the even with dismay. 2 of us whipped out our phones to call 911...and 1 of the men in the meeting ran outside to the aid of this woman. He lifted her head which was nowin a pool of blood and held her until the ambulance came.
Luckily above us was a doctor's office and we were able to get a nurse and a doctor from upstairs who rushedto give thispoor old lady first aid. We all waited with her until the ambulance came. Poor dear was so frightened...and she was actually with her daughter who had just turned around for a moment when the accident occured.
Anyway, the old lady was taken off to the hospital, and the gentleman from our group was given disinfectant because his hands were covered with her blood. His wife (who was also at the meeting) was so distresed that he had this woman's blood on his hands. He just shrugged and said he had to help her and he wasnt worried. He actually joked that if this woman could live til 100, she must have something good in her blood!!!!
Anyway, I was so touched by this man's compassion and kindness.
I will say that God was watching him, because when we resumed our meeting, this gentleman walked away from the table with a $10,000 concession on a contract we were working on. Would he have received the $10K concession anyway? Maybe....but who knows....

@Happiness
Ah what a story! What a wonderful guy...true Hero! And I do believe that his $10,000 concession was no co-incidence. There is a power in generosity. We dont often get rewarded by the people we're most kind to, but it always come back to us one way or another.
Your story reminded me of what happened on Tuesday night when my 78 year old Dad fell over at the top of my street. I ran as fast as I could to get to him, but on my way there noticed a young man in his twenties just look at my Dad lying there on the pavement, and just walk on by. Friends have since told me that he probably thought my Father was just a "drunk". Well I would have to help the drunk too if he lay bleeding on the pavement!
So thanks for your story Sis. It was just what I needed to hear after my drama this week.niceone.gif

Instead of ur friend giving her money to individual people, who do a good deed for the day, wouldn't it be more beneficial if she donates it to charity? I mean at the end of the day it's her money, she can do what she wants with it, I just think it makes more sense to donate it to charities such as sickle cell & thalassemia, leukemia & cancer etc. I think these people need it more than the people who have nothing wrong with them, and who at the end of the day can work for their money. Yeah fair enough they helped someone in their hour of need, whether they needed to or not, but surely thay can be rewarded in another way? I dunno maybe I'm being biased because a member of my family passed away from sickle cell, but thats my opinion anyhow.

@Facetgal- Well sometimes some people have a specific place where any extra cash they have will go. So If she decides to reward those who have helped people in the past, I think that is not a bad idea. This world as you know have too many evil people, we can do with more good people. If she gives the people the money and they feel like giving it to charity, it is their choice. If I have some extra money that I can spare, I know where it will go. No one will tell me where I have to put it, because I have a preference. Also you don't know what the financial Situation of this people are, sometimes it may just come at the right time for them.
Anyway, the government Should be spending billions on this Charity organisations, but we know they prefer to spend more on War, defence etc.
@Happiness- good story. Always be the first person to help, I wish you were the one telling us you took the money home. Maybe you would have been kind enough to send me some.

There already are several charities that she does give to. This lady attracts money like a light attracts moths! She inherited property from an old lady she gave Healing to for several years. She sold the house and gave the lot away to four different charities.
So this is her latest idea and I think its a great one. niceone.gif
@Saint
Have to agree with you entirely...especially how much the Government wastes on sending us into unnecessary wars! Also I personally dont trust a lot of charities.When you hear of their chief executives driving round in top of the range cars it makes you wonder. I give to a charity called NCDL and I have my own sponsered doggie. But on my Birthday, Xmas, Valentines day etc I receive a card from him and calender at Xmas. I wrote and told them that its a complete waste of money and they could be spending that money on extra bones for the dogs or something. Insteadof giving to a homeless charity I;d sooner put a fiver in the hand of the Big Issue seller who is standing in front of me.niceone.gif

Hi locsgirl!
I try to be kind every single day! But sadly its not always appreciated. Here is a link I was aware of for quite some time now - it encourages people to do random acts of kindness, which I think are better then, say, giving to organise charities. I think that, because when I use to go to church, I found that it was always the least expected act of kindness that was the best appreciated. A person may be down for whatever reason, but when someone is kind to them it can really lift their day.
Just last night I watched a snippet from a television programme, whereby this man was interviewing this homeless woman. She said she often felt like killing herself, but when this man came up to her and just happened to talk to her for about half an hour, she felt like she did not want to top herself after all! So even something simple as talking to someone can help, because you never know what their problem is.

Much props and a massive big-up to your friend. It is great to see people who don't just talk-the-talk but can walk-the-walk as well. Hers is a great idea.

Actually what this lady is doing is probably more effective than 'giving to charity' as you suggest. The way many charities are structured and operate (not necessarily the ones you mentioned mind you), only a very small percentage of what is 'given' actually achieves anything of benefit for those in whose cause the charity operates. Her friend is at least taking the time to assess for herself 'real need' and ensuring that 'need' gets the full benefit of what she gives.
Respect
There are those who feel that the only way to ‘prove their own worth’ is by ‘devaluing the worth of others’. You will often find that a man who is compelled to measure his substance against the substance of another, has little of substance in the first place!

@ All
I did say my opinion is biased, I was thinking about what I would do if I had that sort of money. It's all well and good for her if she wants to use her money that way, and all well and good for the people she helps.

Hi Sis! Thanks for that and yes you are so right about listening being a valuable gift. Its always the simple things that are the most effective. I will check out that link you gave later on this evening.
Its amazing actually how hard it is to give money away. It tends to make people suspicious.
I wonder who will be first on here to actually nominate someone!
