i mean i know a lot of african countries have been through shit. but when it comes to haiti it just seems even worse. how much more paindo they have to endure.
i was watching the recent riots when the un inspectors(all white)fired shots in the air and the sight of the haitians desperately trying to grab those food items , i have to say really made me so embarrased to be black.
i know the other carribean islands have their own problems but no where near the scale of haiti and i think its time they really helped out. with doctors, teachers and little things to help them off their feet.

Why would this make you feel "embarrased to be black"?

I am sure that will be of some comfort to them in their time of need.

Maybe if you all replace your "embarassment" with 'Anger' then something could be done about Haiti's situation.

And before you all go dishing out your 'heartfelt sympathies'(comforts to fools) Maybe you should look into what the problems are with Haiti instead of putting them down to some kind of natural disaster or worse curse/act of God.

If it is cursed it is only in that it is a symbol of African resistence to European control. And that would depend from which perspective you view it...African or European?

what are you on about embarassment with anger bulllshit....do you understand what you just read??????? or you are just going to ignore the meaning of the post. what I meant was that if it was some black soldiers firing those shots up there it would be bad but understandable, cus they were tyrying to ward them off from a stampede, but it was white, so I cringed with embarassment...and I am also angry but right now I just want to express what I felt at that precise moment when I saw the soldierswhat is wrong with that??

The island of Haiti is a symbol in itself to the undying resistance of our fellow Africans.
To Haiti we owe the international fear that was put into the hearts of those that dared wish to enslave us..that them time soon done.
In 1791 the war against France started. Some 10/12 years later..25,000 troopsover 3 deploymentswere sent by Napeleon to curb the island wide insurecction and put slavery back in place. Over 70% of the islands population at the time the slaves burn the cane fields.. and started to run things for themselves..was born in Africa. They were not having it. 12 long years of struggle.
They formed there independence. A first in the enslaved Black world. Lets look to a brighter day when your and my 10 year old family member revels and is humbly grateful to those Haitian ancestors that instilled fear into white hearts that wish to continue the system of atrocity.
Let me dream a minute..
If I was a carribean PM. Haitian citizens would have special status... as African Carribeans we should pay some dues back to Haiti.. a portion of all carribean island earnings into a development fund for Haiti. It would be the time to say.
Enough suffering. The case for the fund..
1)It has one of the largest populations. Thus great potential.
2)We are endebted to Haiti for the warriors who defended their and our right to live aswe should. A major factor in the stoppage of slavery.
3)They are under more pressure relative to other parts of the Carribean.
Every island would have a Haitian memorial monument..work experiance for youth in Haiti..and 20 other good schemes.
Johnny Haiti is not cursed. The island is blessed. Blessed to have those who were strong enough.. smart enough.. of every commendable trait in a human being.. to overturn the shared history of brutalitythe majoriity of Africans in the Carribean faced.
Are you hearing that bro..blkhailer

Absolutely Mansa,
That Island has been specially marked by western forces ever since its revolution.
All they wish to promote is negative propoganda - hence why so many of our people have such a distorted view of Hati, let alone African Humanity in general.

Haiti is an economic basket case and has been for over a hundred years. It is simply true that they have been unable to govern themselves. Coup after coup tells a big truth. Starvation, poverty, crime, disease all tell the truth of Haiti. AIDS is a BIG problem due to the lax culture there. I don't know how to help Haiti, but foreign aid is of big assistance.
Our brothers there need assistance and guidance. But I personally believe they are beyond help and it is better to leave them alone.
