When you return home on visits, how are you accepted by the locals? Outside of your family are you say accepted as a Nigerian or a forienger how speaks the lanaguage?

I'm asking out of curiosity.I have a very good friend whose Jamacian but a British citizen. She tells me that when she sets foot back home and "adjusting " her patios she's looked at as a foriegner.

What is your experience with this?

Well it is true when I go home and try to speak my language people laugh at my accent.... and it doesn't help that I can't speak it that well.

But its not a sinister laugh, it's not meant to embarrass me or make me feel like an outsider, its actually a love, appreciation and acceptance laugh... if you get what I mean...

As of the locals they do look at me, welcome me and accept me as one of them.
