I am a new reader of blacknet uk, at first i was so excited, finally a place to hear people express their views, and discuss race, colour, entertainment, sex etc. but as i continued to read i have become more and more upset. All the posts on her seem to spout is hate, well the popular ones at least. I know not EVERY single post is like this, but a hell of a lot are. Why is there so much of this, hate is the worst emotion imaginable, it has destroyed the black race for years, and we are just here continuing it:
black women hate black men
black men hate black women
africans hate carribeans
blacks hate asians
black women hate white women
men hating gays
the list could go on forever , all this really upsets me as a young women, i know it sounds corny but what is hate going to achieve, so many people are so bitter and twisted, and u know what in the end it's yourself you are hurting.
Peace

respecta....a question or two...considering that there are 4-thousand plus threads, couldn't you have read more of what we have here before you arrived at this conclusion? And have you read many of the positive, inspirational threads we have here as well? Just asking.

Hello Respecta and welcome to this beautiful African space which is Blacknet Village
I've read your post and am saddened that you feel as you do... I don't think you're being entirely fair in you summation of the posts here... Sure, some posters are vile and spout pure trash, but hey, that's life where-ever you go... cretins aren't too fussy about the space they inhabit and they get everywhere... When I fist 'discovered' the village i think i felt a little how you described... initially chuffed to bits that i'd found such a fab African site, then really disillusioned and disheartened about the content of much of the posts... but... I didn't give up... I persevered and also began to consider my role in it all... what I mean is, when I first came, I was initailly attracted to the most controversial, contentious or down-right stupidtopics and so it isn't really surprising thatI encountered lots of extremist views, raw emotion and out-right stupidity that's attached to such things... when I took a step back and had a read through some of the more 'serious' topics, my expereinces were entirely different... There are a good few kindered spirits within the Village and they seriously out-number the idiots... it doesn't take long, nor a great number of brain cells to work out whos who... I hope you're able tostep over the trash and have a much better time of it all...

I have read a lot of the threads on here, but i like discussions, about politics, philosophy, how the world is etc. and a lot these for me have produced awful reactions, which upset me. Yes there are fun posts which make me laugh and are light-hearted, but on more serious issues i've read some horrible stuff

Again...There are some really good threads on serious issues and in the forums you pointed out...keep reading and you'll see....You have to decide if you want to read them and or contribute to the ones you don't consider to be negative. Make your voice heard on the issues that are important to you. Take care.

Dear AfricariBrit,
you are right, i know it isn't all bad, there are a lot of great, articulate, intelligent people on here, but the hate does upset me, as it is just holding people back, the language used on here is awful s/t

... "finally a place to hear people express their views on race, colour, entertainment sex etc..."
..."but I like discussions on politics, philosophy and how the world is..."
... these two statements don't quite tally for me... my nose is twitching... could be coming down with a cold... cold be catchingthe wiff of a smell of a dodgy sinting...
... "but on the more serious issues, I've read some horrible stuff"
... I'm sure you have but guess what... the world can be a horrible place...
... How about trying to make it a better place by starting a really positive thread about something you don't consider upsetting or filled with hate?... I even promise to respond to it if you do

One other thing, I am surprised you are surprised that there is conflict within the subject matter you pointed out...that's life.

Anyway continue to read and visit and step over the foolishness which by the way a majority comes from windups and trolls, people whostart conflict to never be seen or heard from again.

I am not surprised there is conflict, just sad, from a young age you become very aware of it, and i am upset people can't discuss things constructively, without it descending into stale cusses...anyway keep up the good work x

Greetings new member.
Glad about your interests as I think you are in the right place. Sister Ashanti I think has put you right about your sweeping statement about al the posts here are hate filled. Not sure what all the post on this site say as I suggest would most people, but prepared to bet good money you are incorrect. Also want to take an issue about your comment that hate has kept black people back for so long. Self hate. Totally agreed but how could that not be as self hate is a fundamental aspect of the process of oppression which has been driven and indoctrated into the overwhealming majority of our people. More black people dislike each other. Go to the Caribbean you willl find ingorant people hating on other blacks with more passion than the whites who are actually doing them harm. That I would suggest to most parts of the black world to one degree or another but could be wrong eg Latino Blacks towards others compared to the European Latino.
Just part of our problem my friend and I suggest men women and a whole heap of other issues you mentioned are simply different branches of the same root.
I actually think if you looked into it, you will probably find less extreme views towards other groups here than if you checked other Forums dealing with similar issues. I accdientally logged onto the Channel 4 News site and was shocked that such a reputable instittion would allow some of the discussions that were taking place there against black people.I won't even talk about Asian and other sites which Ido not visit but have no qualms in taking the words of many otherswho have.
The internet is a potentially democratic medium which means that from the poorest to the not so poor can have accesss and consequently a wide range of views will naturally or can be seen on any given issue. That been said concerning those with hate like or type views your words not theres as the term hate is nothing something in my personal diction whether we are arguing about our nearest rival football team our undisguised enemies, I suggest to ignore them as the majority of intelligent and thinking people do.
People can talk. But others can simply choose to ignore.

Thanks Fredblack
All you's lot are right, i have read more of it today, and a lot of it are sensible, fun or decent debates.
In response to your comment on channel 4, I am shocked at this too, as i think this is quite a reputable, fair channel, but i'm not that surprised, other white run media like the Daily Mail, or the Sun, or channels such as Fox systimatically break down black people.
I just know black people need unity, and this site shows we are far from that, but hopefully the site will help to heal this a little too
peace
