Serena Angered By 'hoax' Interview
http://eurweb.com/story.cfm?id=17716
*The e-mail that has been circulating around the Internet for several weeks most often begins with the phrase “Is this true? According to Serena Williams - the answer is hayall nah! The tennis champ is outraged over an interview someone has supposedly made up out of thin air and sent out into cyberspace. It’s written in a Q&A-format and features questions - and fake answers - about a reluctance to date black men.
“Serena Williams has not conducted and would not, under any circumstance, conduct such an interview, said her rep Raymone Bain in a statement released Tuesday. “It is unfortunate that someone could be so vile as to defame and slander Ms. Williams as the writer has intentionally done.
In the fake interview, a writer made up questions and answers about the tennis star’s preference for white men.
“Let's be real. If you are a successful black female you only have two choices....date outside of your race or date other successful black females," Serena is quoted as saying in the hoax. The fraudulent letter went on to say: “If Oprah would date outside of her race she would be married with children now. The state of most black men is so low the only thing you can do is love them. Like a poor homeless dog. You can't expect it to protect you. You can only offer shelter and love and watch as our neighbor's pitbull protects his home and family. I, unlike Oprah, am not forced to stay within those boundaries. I was born into a new generation of black women.
Serena said in the statement released yesterday: "Words cannot express how upset I am to find out that someone has deliberately attempted to ruin my reputation and image. I would never, ever, under any circumstance, be so disrespectful. Whoever decided to write this garbage does not know Serena Williams. It is not my thinking, nor my being. I want to find out who is behind this, and have them prosecuted within the fullest extend of the law. I am hoping that there will be more policing over the Internet, in order to find out immediately the origin of this kind of treachery. No one deserves to be humiliated and defamed this way."
Do you think i give a f*ck about you and your pretend DRAMA

you know i'm really getting sick and tired of all this interracial bullshit. if serena williams prefers whitemen so be it. i know for certain from now everytime she plays tennis i will be hoping she loses. she starts hitting a few tennis balls and suddenly she thinks she is better than blackmen.
please dont come crawling back when the white race show their true colours to you like it happened to michael jackson kobe janet jackson dwight yorke and countless others who thought they were better than us but soon realised they werent.mad-moonie

I dont believe this story at all. I find it hard to believe a media savvy girl who has had training and been in the spotlight most of her adult life would be stupid enough to say something like that. Would mean she had no sense of PR at all. If she held those sorts of views about black men I dont think she would ever give voice to it.
Also I dont think that she does actaully believe in such stupidness. Her dating white is one thing (which we have covered and wont do again, no back door IR threads people), and it made us all dissapointed in her but her publicly or privately cussing out black men isnt something Im willing to believe.

Yes she is.
She is a sellout insofar as she is with a white man and has an image crisis but I cant believe she said THAT shit.

The funny thing is i got this email this morning.
first of all i thought, so who cares what serena thinks of dating black men, then i thought, as if she would even say such nonsense, being in the spotlight and Her with her strong black father and all that!
The interview is so fake anyway, it doesn't say who conducted it, where it was taken from or anything.
Thats what happens with email hoaxes, they spread like wild fire.

Hmm perhaps Miss Price but it wasnt just the IR thing.
Did you see the thread about Serena Boobs and Nipples?
Or the Lenny Henry thread?
It took a while to convince me too that you can call someone out for what seems like a small thing but I think I understand now. Its not a small thing. It may be harsh as she is one of our Sheroes but its important.

but i just think people should leave them william sisters alone, all right my girl did make a fool of her self lookin like that (stylist) in them clothes but, has people been blinded or am on glue? they have made massive achievments to the world of tennis, when i started to watch them play, i was so impressesd, and so pleased, people have to look beyond what they are doin the lime light and focus on thier tennis, let the white folk concertrate on the mieda side, why do we care as long as they keep kickin thier ass. she is just having fun, she's young, she got millions in the bank and a solid family, what more does she want to do, excpet have more fun? banana.gif

@ Miss Price
I don't wish to go too much off topic here but I find your rationalisation for defending Serena against DrunkMonkey's 'Sellout' claims and your rationalisation for agreeing with the claim against Lenny Henry, somewhat bemusing. It seems to me that you can apply the same principle of 'achievemnet in a field' to Lenny Henry as you did to the Willaims sisters.
Besides, if you read through the Lenny Henry thread or others where the sellout issue came up, you will see that the question of being a sellout is not one of 'belittling' (or 'failing to acknowledge') a individual's personal achievement. It is more about:
1. How the position/status was reached, in terms of how much they 'betrayed' the interest of the African/Black community/race in getting there;
and/or
2. How much the person betrays, hinders or frustrates the wider interests of African/Black people for their personal benefit.
I think most of us were agreed that individual actions of prominent and in-the-public-eye African/Black people, which suggests a turning away, rejection or outright aversion to their essential Africaness/Blackness are actions of a sellout, irrespective of whether or not we 'happen to like the individual'.
Respect
There are those who feel that the only way to ‘prove their own worth’ is by ‘devaluing the worth of others’. You will often find that a man who is compelled to measure his substance against the substance of another, has little of substance in the first place!

It's some sort of trend for black athletes with money to go IR, black celebrities of all kinds as a matter of fact. I don't really care, I always thought it was male athletes since that's what I've been hearing from some of these threads.
I don't know about lenny harvey:?,but i'll find out.
Anyways someone else's personal lifefamous or not is insignificant to mine.
