easy blackmatta,

the human brain is, by an infinitely degree, the most complex thing in the universe.

there is so much that it can do which most humans don't have the knowledge, training or background to exploit.

for me dreams and other different forms of conciousness, allow humans to become aware of the different possibilities - trials and outcomes in life, that ultimately intelligence brings to our attention, by default.

oh my goodness!! this is so weird, but that's how i got 'the calling'. I was going through a thing where i really didn't know what to do with my life, career wise. I had always been an ambitious person with everthing planned out so this was a really bad time for me. I was in a crappy job and just generally depressed. Then one day when i was feeling particularly upset, when i was halfway between sleep and consciousness a voice came into my head and said "be a teacher". Just that. I had NEVER wanted to be a teacher (it actually took four years before i followed through on it!!) but now, when things get hard/stressful , i know that this is what i am SUPPOSED to do, and that makes it easier. God does not give us more than we can handle. What is for us will not go by us.

I've often had long detailed conversations with my mother. So real I can smell her hair, hear her laugh. I've even awaken the next day with a feeling that she was still alive, only to have to bare the pain of knowing that she is gone.

I tired to dimiss these as dreams but something in my soul tells me that her spirit is still alive........I hope so....but if not, I'll continue to believe that it is.

@ Parris, it's funny you should say that, because when i got my experience (the only one i have ever had) i had actually been 'talking' to my grandmother. Now she died ten years before i was even born, but for various factors and reasons i strongly believe she is my guardian angel. Anyway, when i get stressed, i sometimes 'talk' to her, and i was doing that before i went to sleep. I sometimes think it was her who spoke to me. Everyone says she was a kind, generous woman, and whenever someones mother died in the parish, she would always be the one who took in their children, despite the fact she had 13 of her own. I like to think she's looking out for me from the otherside. Apparently i look just like her favourite brother. Well, that wasofftopic.giflol

In my case, hell yes!! I hate anything of that nature!! my mother is a great one for talking about spooky/creepy things and usually right before bed too!! It reminds me of a story someone told when their oet died andtheir father told them that dying was just like going to sleep. Then they said goodnight and turned out the light!!

Well i am of a highly sensitive disposition and nichtophobic to boot, so i will continue to be 'freaked out' by such things!!

See that is where I think people go wrong...seeing it as being creepy and spooky...perhaps one too many horror movies does that...personally I feel that everything happens for a reason...and if it continues to happen to a certain person...then it could be a gift...something that u are meant to be able to derive from your experience as such...like with your experience with the woman and her mothers spirit...

I don't believe in things such as coincidence...in fact I take these things very seriously...especially if it is of the premonition type...

I think we are more entwined with the spirit world or our cosmic connections are strongerthan we are led to believe...could that be the true esoteric knowledge which had been all but wiped out from modern day religious beliefs...

Things that occur in a sub/semi conscious state should be taken seriously because it holds a lot more information than what your conscious mind can conceive...

Yep well done for following instincts rather than over thinking continuously over a decision...should I....shouldn't I...what u are meant to experience you will regardless of the way u get there...granny...oh well better late than never....

I believe in a spirit realm and something 'other' than us. Just because i fear certain aspects of it, i wouldn't say that i was closed off to it. Far from it. I admire people who are wide open to that and even have a 'gift'. it must be like seeing 'two layers' of the world. But if you spent an evening with my mother conversing on such things, she would freak you out too!! that'sjust the way she is!

But that is how it was always meant to be...that is how people are controlled now and always...fear is a powerful tool...we as a people not actually realising nor embracing our full potential...then they make it out like you are possessed by the devil...and shunned by society...for the very reality that many have shared at least once in their lives...
