I cant imagine how the world functioned without them!!
Even just going out raving with the boys takes untold phonecalls and people are always on the move.
At my old job we had to be constantly on our mobiles. I worked on the telecoms on the railway so if I was out on the track doing something at one end and someone else is checking to see if what Im doing is working at another end.... well how would that work without mobiles?? Id have to walk or drive miles up the track to a phone and go back and carry on. It must have worked because they did it before but I cant see how.
Many other examples but you see what I mean I hope?

The problem with mobiles phones is that when you actually go out to socialize with folks with themthey almosthave nothing moreto say.

But then Peacemaker people dont have real conversations on mobiles (unless its nightime and you talking to your woman).
Most converstations are like where are u?
Im by the red shop next to the church.
OK walk down towards the bridge till you see the Horse and Groom pub and turn left and its number 54.
How would you do that without mobiles?? Especially if the only person whoknew that info was on a bus elsewhere at the moment?.
When they have decided where they will meet or who is coming and how to get there... Then the real conversation starts when they see each other. My mobile phone calls to my friends last about 20 seconds (if that). Yet we spend hours in each others company talking.

@ DM
That is a male perspective of mobile phones...we don't chat too tough on it...2-3 mins max...we heading out later...how u getting there...what are the directions...done diddy...that is another rule of being a man....not chatting on the phone for more than two mins...exception if it was your woman at night...WOMEN however can NEVER be all talkedout... @free stop lying LOL

I can't imagine what life must have been like before mobiles and the internet...
Let me put it this way... I’d rather leave my home with out my coat in December than without my mobile... That's how important my phone is, practically powerless without it, the two times I’d forgotten my phone at home it was like a big part of me was missing... I just wanted to quickly get back home where my phone was waiting... Hahaha sad innit...
@MyThoughts… Women can never be talked out... ever, I can chat to my friend who is also my flat mate for an hour on the phone and still have plenty to talk about when we reach home...
My male friends are same if not worse, they'll call and be on the phone chatting for hours... and believe they'll be the one doing most of the talking.
Y'all don't talk to each other, so they'll ring their female friend and chat non-stop...

I started taking my mobile phone with me everywhere only this year. Before that I don't take it out, not many people call me on my mobile at that time, so I sometimes just leave it at home. But I always curse myself when I leave it at home and i need it, especially when I am going some where and i am getting late.
Part of the reason why people refuse to call me was that I was on orange, most of my friends have T - mobile, I have changed to T-mobile and I can't do without taking it out at the moment. It is as important as my wallet, so i have to take it out.
I disagree that men don't talk for more than 2 mins on the phone when talking to other male friends, I talk to my friend everyday for at least 40 mins. Even though we still chat online, we talk every now and then. my friend can do without his phone, his phone is always ringing.
What annoys me is those people who have up to 3 mobile phones. I know 4 guys like that, they are always on the phone, when they are talking on one, the other one is ring. There was this guy at my formal work place, he had 3 phones, he does little work. Always on the phone, needless to say after 3 weeks he was asked to leave. I have another friend who hides under the quilt and talk to girls everynight for at least 2 hours.
