Having a conversation/ debate... and would love your feedback on this one...
If you have had to cancel a night out what has generally been the reason?
Are there places that you would like to go to that your friends don't want to go to?
Do you have preferred friends that you go out to events with (because certain peeps are too flaky/lazy/disorganised)?
Do you mind going on your own to an event/ place/ or party where you do not know anyone?
Do you care whether the people you socialise with are close to you or casual going out acquaintances/ friends?
Would you like a more eclectic social life and have more friends who represent your different interests?
Blacknet Book Club coming soon...

Things that put me off....
If its too far. The drive will take too long and Ill be sleepy when we reach also knowing my friends we wont all be ready to leave till very late anyway.
If its cosmopolitan lol i.e. less black people than anyone else, I dont like that.
If its expensive (over £10 entrance) or drinks are overpriced.
If there is no clear plan how to get back eg all the drivers are drinking and there are no spare ones or its the back-o-beyond and there are no cab offices or nightbuses or trains or anything.
If its a big club as opposed to a medium or small sized bar. Dont do the clubbing thing anymore.
Your questions Free...

Somebodys woman threw a fit and they aren't coming so everybody falls apart like big babies usually.
Are there places that you would like to go to that your friends don't want to go to?
I havent been to a telepathy or world dance in years.... Im nostalgic for jungle (not d&b). On the other hand I despise garage and always have so I never went to any of those big garage raves like nation or anything and I have no regrets no matter how good they tell me it was. I know I wouldnt like it.
Do you have preferred friends that you go out to events with (because certain peeps are too flaky/lazy/disorganised)?
YES DEFINATELY. Or rather I wont go with certain people, Id say Ill see you in there. I dont want the stress of waiting for certain people. I have two freinds in particular who seem to get a power from having other wait for them, they are ALWAYS late and take ages doing anything.
Do you mind going on your own to an event/ place/ or party where you do not know anyone?
Ive done it before and suppose I might again but not really often. Depends if I REALLY want to go and nobody else does... Im going.
Do you care whether the people you socialise with are close to you or casual going out acquaintances/ friends?
I prefer to go with close friends, its more fun and they know my limits and tastes as I know theirs.
Would you like a more eclectic social life and have more friends who represent your different interests?
Its not that important really.

Every year a groups of us get together, pick a country and spend a week there. There is one brutha that NEVER SEEMS TO HAVE ENOUGH MONEY...so we stopped inviting his azz. His lack of funds is not really the problem, the problem is he won't tell anyone until we are out of the country then its "Ahhh man do you have $200.00 until I get back to the states"

@DM the one thing I hate is that if you go to a club/disco (not sure what word you guys use) here in the states, at least in the Metro DC/VA/MD area and its not AT LEAST $20.00 to get in........the night is going to end is some type of drama

Seriously, fights, stabbings, something......and the dress code is tied into that as well. Jeans, T-shirts...wooooooo...its going to be trouble.

My problem is I can't go and listen to the music I like to listen to and expect that there will be other brothers there............ughhh.........and if there are brothers there, they've picked up the white lingo, dress white,...pfft......so I can't stand rap, and don't much like white people (well that's not true)....I don't have ANY white friends or even aquantinces outside of the military element........*shrugz*.....I just do what Parris finds enjoyable.

@ Parris
I feel the other way.
If I go out and I see metal detectors, loads of security, expensive to get it to me THAT indicates trouble. The fact that they need to take those measures show me they have a fear of nonsense or experience of it in the past. It goves an illusion of safety but in my experience THAT is where trouble is MOST likely.
When I go to relaxed places with minimal friendly security and its decent to get in, no strict nonsense on dress code ect then (as long as the club has been around a while) that is where I know it will be a nicer less tense, uptight atmosphere and people are there to have fun. There are hardly any fights in places like that.

@DM you are right about friendly security...

good drink and full belly = happiness
