I think that the legalization of cannabis (and all drugsfor that matter), can only be a positive thing. Imagine if it were possible to by weed etc from your local off licence, where it could be taxed and restricted to adults, then I'm sure drug related crime would fall. Think about it, you would have no more mad junkies breaking in to your home steeling your DVDs, CDs and so on. I don't believe that the numbers of addicts would rise dramatically. But if drug use increased at least it could be monitored. People with moneywho use drugs are able to fund their habits, and cause damage tothemselves only. Those individuals who are unable to support their habit cause harm not only to themselves but to others when they need to feed their addictions. I for one do not smoke weed, as I packed in smoking over a year ago. I think that all drugswhatever class have serious health implications. I have friends who work in the mental health field and have informed me that I would be surprised how many service users dabble or have done so in the past. There are many studies that have linked drug use and mental health problems. Ultimately individuals should have the information and right to make up their own minds.
