Spoke to a Jamaican brutha of mine who informed me that a “Dancehall Queen was not a diss or an insult. And that in fact that picture of that Japanese woman won something like $50,000 dollars for beating other top dancers. I'm told (some) Jamacians are really into this. That's a lot of money for just dancing.
But let me bring up to important points.
1) I'm not Jamacian
2) My wife isn't a Dance Hall Queen.
Though I knownow you meant no disrespect.
What you did was akin to a white person saying "Oh hey....I know a black guy...that Denzel guy who won an Oscar".....or..."Hey you remind me of Micheal Jordan"..........pfft............all black men ain't actors, or ball players....and all Japanese women (especially the one I married) aren't Dance Hall Queens.....
Since coming to this site of fine honorable, respectful, educated, concious, intelligent black men and women (notice the sarcasm..) I've had references to my dead mother and who is going to "*uck her"....."my father" son being "it" and my wife being "me love you long time" and other common peasantries. Itmakes me defensive.
I expect it, that is how n.i.g.g.e.r.s. act and talk to each other. And to those n.i.g.g.e.r.s. I gladly fire back....here is the only place they could speak to me with such disrespect........
.......but to a respectful sister, like yourself, who meant not harm......I gain nothing from my respsonse.
So I apologize for taking in the wrong way. In the future so I don’t get the wrong idea, or meaning....
......please refrain from mentioning my wife in any of your posts……
....Now this Village tit-for-tat shit i tried to squash it,it was too late to stop it
There's a certain line you just don't cross and you crossed it
I read reference to my wife on a post I just lost it....
"....But now it's elevated cuz once you put someone's wife and kids in it
The shit gets escalated, it ain't just words no more is it.....?

Hopefully we have progressed beyond that point…that doesn't mean we are going to start taking baths together, or smokin' stoggies over a good game...
....but who am I to tell a grown man what to do.
And as I keep saying I NEVER fire first.

One shouldn’t need to make a mental note about mentioning a man’s wife.

It’s called respect and good upbringing by one’s parents….then again…….everyone wasn’t raised like me.

But as far as I'm concerned anything goes, words on a screen or mere vibrations in the air shouldn't bother anybody. Ifit does, it simply means your emotional attachment is too strong to certain images or arrangment of different images. I.e words.

Can't expect other people to worry about what not to say to you. I certainly don't care about what said to me or about me.

It's simply said.

True I didn't know what "dance hall" was don't take that to mean I've not spent time out side of the US.......most of my adult (1991 - 1999) was spent out side of the US.

Birmingham is half the size of London and its people have inferiority complex. Always wanna prove themselves and start beef but really... Its like Tottenham calling Arsenal "rivals" or Sunderland calling Newcastle LMAO big bloody joke.
Most Londoners dont even know where it is!! LOL and it aint even that far. But a lot of Brummies I have met have issues with London... *shakes head* we dont even care!
The Brummie accent is SO irritating. Scousers are amusing, Geordies are quaint, Yorkshire is funny as hell but Brummies... they just sound miserable. Like someone is about to commit suicide. Listen to Lenny Henry GEEEZ!
