Same here a year... lukily i moved on toa different role dealing with different usersso that kind of picked things up for a whilebut won't be to long before i loose motivation again, so i am planning my next move which would probably involve finding a new job.
It's no funwhen your job becomes so familiar to you that you can perform it with eye'sclosed... I swear sometimesiknowwhat thesolution is before the user finishes telling me the problem...
I do miss thedays when i had to pull my hair out trying to find the solution to a problem, it kind of used to make me feel like i'vedone a proper days work...

lol @ BP... jobs 4 life dont exist anymore...if u dont leave at some point, they will make "yo ass" redundant..
their is no loyalty by the employers to the employee and vise versa... thats why we have head hunters.. stealing staff from rival companies... it happens.. i've seen it.. lol!
u find a betta offer.. y not take it.. u'd be a fool not to...
i think also, besides ur regular job, u must do something u r passionate about, to save u from going mad... which is why after wrk on wednesdays and fridays, i take my dance costumes to my afro dance and belly dance class and wrk off sum stress b4 the wkend kicks in...
my grandpa wrked for the same company for 30 yrs, and when he retired the bought him a car and a cruise for him and my grandma... ofcourse they hate boats so i went wit my mom banana.gif
those days are gone ... sadly...

i know ppl who go on interviews on their lunch break...always lookin for bigger and better..lol!
last week 2 girls in admin almost came to blows...over bonuses...lol flingin accusations at each other.. it was funny...
and one of the guys in finance lost his job, to one of the new guys, who pretended to need guidance and took all the credit for the hardwrk...sick..
i should become a farmer... safer that way...

MsPnutt you are so right, there is no such thing as loyalty any more, about six months ago, one of our project support specialist was told in the afternoon that she was been made redundant and that there was no need for her to come in to work anymore...
Off course they gave her bundles of money to shut her up (a years worth salary I was told). She worked for this company for over 7 years and when they decided that was that couldn't even give the poor woman time to look for another...
A month later they brought in two girls to take over her position, so obviously they knew way before what they were doing with her position and could have told her to start looking, they probably offered the girls the position while she was still working here.
My company has a thing where they make people redundant and pay them tones of money so they all go quietly. For six months+ worth of pay would you complain?
As much as I love working here, when I am ready to leave, I wouldn't feel any guilt... 4 weeks notice is all they will get from me.

Damn right... my friend/ex colleague did same thing to them. They promised they'll increase hispay but kept putting it back so he started applying for jobs, takingafternoon/morning of workfor interviews and when he eventually found the rightjob he gave them 4 weeks notice minusthree weeks holiday he still had left, they started panicking and promising the world tohim but he said i warned you enough times i wasn't happy but you all done nothing soi am gone...
They played a stupid game with him because he single handedly designed, built and setup several of VIP to work from homeand apart from some of the documentations he had done no one knew how the system worked... see them scattering around the place trying to find someone else to replace him... LOL
All the black people were in heavens watching white directors practically on their knees begging a black man to stay...
That was way to much fun... since then another blackguy has left in a similar way only that he gave them 3 weeks notice... thing is they have already brought in two white men to take over the position he left butboth have been so shit they had to let them goafter the initial three month probation.

It is illegal to make someone "redundant", then give their job to someone else. Regardless of how much money they paid her, she would have a strong case if she was, indeed, made redundant.

In my job, I'm only busy each quarter and year end, so most of the time I'm bored. I also hate travelling into work, but my employer won't let me work from home. I was going to leave, but I found out they paid someone off who got pregnant, then couldn't come back in a full-time capacity, so am now practising.....

At the end day of thework is selling your time at a really inferior rate.
Since leaving Uni I have had a variety of McJobs and I never stayed at one for more than a year because my mind was turning to cabbage.
Now I have about 3 different jobs where I work for myself,I dont make a great deal of money, but I am never hungry, never without a roof over my head and generally a lot happier because I set my own hours and work when I need to ,and if im saving for something special I just put more hours in.
But im definately not built for the office environment or any type of office drama I would soon go "postal"up in da place.
But you know we all have to find our own path I just know that a degree of independence is better for me.
So when you start getting those "i hate this job blues"try fleshing out some ideas of what you would like to do before you jump.
I aint asking for nothing, just open the door and i\'ll take it myself-James Brown.
