Have you ever had to live or be in close proximity to other races, and they showed the worst possible stereotype about their people. I've been around just about every single race and culture there is, and find that I interact with them just fine. However, I am currently sharing an apartment with two other girls, one of whom is a Mexican, and I hate to say it, but she typifies the stereotype of the "dirty Mexican". It's like she can't be bothered to pick up after herself. If she spills something on the counter, she will leave it there for someone else to clean. She lets her food rot in the refrigerator...last week, I threw away a cartoon of her milk that expired IN OCTOBER OF 2004!!! She leaves her underwear in the bathroom, and sometimes doesn't even bother to do her chores for the week, without apologizing or acknowledging it (we split up chores and rotate)!:X What's more, I've grown up around many Mexicans, and I've yet to see a clean one. Have you had similar experiences?

@Iolite

Never encountered this problem personally but know others who have. My cousin in America had a Mexican friend and when we went to visit her the day we walked into the apartment I witness her mother washing her knickers in the kitchen sink. When she finished she unpluged the water and then refilled it and started to wash some chicken in the same sink. Me and my cousin looked at each other and just got up and said we got to go and was laughing out of disgust on the way out . I was pleased to find out from my cousin that was the first time she visited this girls home.....and the last.

What another friend experienced with an Asian girl is too disgusting for me to broadcaste here but lets just say when it was this girls time of the month the whole house knew. She was so disgusting and nasty no matter how many times she was told about her ways she just didn't care. But she got such a nasty trick played on her.

She had the habit of just dumping her things everywhere so my friend (who planned the whole thing) waited for her to dump her house keys on the table and she removed the front door key and her bedroom key and replaced it with the same make but different key...obvioulsy the key looked the same. At weekends most of the tennants stayed away with boyfriends etc so after changing the keys my friend waited for the Asian girl to leave. When she left my friend even took the battery out of the doorbell.

So the Asian girl got locked out of the house and wasn't aware that the doorbell had no battery in it so her ringing for other tennants to let her in was hopeless. She just couldn't understand why her keys didn't work and in frustration broke them in the lock so she was hit with a bill from the landlord....who she had to call out of emergency. The joke is she has no idea who did this to her and why they did this

Looking at you by Terry Wilson

this is a lil off topic (OK, alot off topic!!), but since we are sharing flatmate stories...I only go No. 2 at night after mine have gone to bed so no one has to smell it!!! They probably wonder if i go at all!! am i weird?!?! (PS living with two white girls, not that that is relevant!!) no stories to share on the "fulfilment of negative stereotype" front. We are all so busy we are barely home at the same time, even when we are, we are snowed under with work. Though they DO have this habit of tying up the kitchen bin then leaving it in the flat hall for days before they take it out. I used to, but then i thought, "i ain't the garbage lady and they both know where the back alley is" so now i just take out the rubbish from my own room. So which one of us is gross?!?!

IMO, whoever ties up the garbage should be the one to take it out. Why tie it, then leave it for someone else? PS i would have just edited my last post, but for some reason i can't do that anymore.
