I have had to login as calculator2 as there seems to be a problem with the 'calculator1' login. Thank you for your reply to my previous post. Without wishing to be patronising, your argument was valid and well put. There was no disrespect intended as regards my question regarding the homosexuality issue. Peace

Calculator2; not sure who ths was intended for, I'm assuming it was a reply to me, if so thanks, my only point from here is that I wouldn't claim to be 100% right on the issue of Outrage or claim Dr X to be completely wrong.. What I will say is that regardless of whether Outrage initated the discussion on the lyrics or it was someone else, clearly there is an issue that affects us all, clearly there was an opportunity for us to wrestle the initiative from Outrage and use it to our own benefit. Personally I think we blew that chance by getting caught up in our indignation that a Gay-men commentated on our music, what we should have examined is how we could have used this opportunity to address some of the music moguls irresponsible behaviour within the music industry..
Or am i to believe that Ragga is fine as it is and Hip hop has no contradictions for Black people?

The individual concerned appears to spend a lot of time criticising "light skinned blacks" who "work as part of the system" ... with one notable, and apparently inexplicable,exception. Perhaps he - or his listeners - could therefore explain this apparent contradiction. It would also be of interest if the individual concerned - or his listeners - could comment upon, or explain this (please click here).

twang and bad manners
Why do we devote so much time to the negative? You quote people who have made a small but yet significent contribution to increase african peoples influence amongst the youth and within local schools. What evidence do you have to make such slanderous statements? You call them by name while hiding behind a false name!

@Kunjufu
Stop being so melodramatic, this 'Wound man' routine is getting old.
The Station name is called 'GENESIS FM' not 'DOCTAHX FM'. So I CANNOT understand 'I Will never listen to the station again' 'Ill never listen to anything Genesis again' Statements.
@Twang
If X talks '75% bull sh*t' and has such a dictatorial style etc etc, WHY do you appear to listen EVERY WEEK ? confused3

Falsenames hmmmmm do you mean names like highlighter or Doctah X for example, this arguement of so called 'falsenames' is such a red herring and a non arguement, it is a fact that people on 'community' radio's do not use their OWN names for obvious reasons. It is also obvious WHY it would be a bit STUPID in an age of identity theft to name ONE issue that it would be equally STUPID to use one's real name on a public website..
Secondly not using ones real name to raise a point of concerns does not in itsekf make the point invalid or wrong, sorry but i really do not follow that logic at all...

Obi: you make a fair point, however I would argue that if people today now state that they are NOT going to vote Labour, because of the lies Tony Blair told over Iraq for example.. One could justifiably argue that Tony Blair isn't NEW LABOUR is he?
My point therefore is that given that the 'People's talk show'could be said to be a flagship programme for Genesis, given that Dr X did not distingish between his personal views and that of the station, AND because he himself failed to acknowledge that My position is somewhat divorced from the people who post here. I think its fair to say I'm personallyNOTgoing to be a consumer of that station, thats my choice.
I'm not advocating that others do the same or that Blacknet consumers follow my lead, because unlike someI actually believe in free choice...However this is my position and it will only change when the 'People's talk show' does what it says on the tin ie reflect the views of ALL the people and is NOT restricted to those whose views mirrors that of the Presenter, I see no milage or benefit from that type of format..

Ok, since Highlighter is your real name [more like High Crackhead N**ga] could you please point out when I actually did what you are stating that I've done? Maybe if you took that doo-doo diaper, which your kid just threw at you, off of your head, then maybe you'd be able to read not just better but more accurately.

Does anyone who has actually heard the individual concerned believe that he actually wrote the articles on homosexuality that appeared on the website run by the "light skinned black" for whom he has so much professed admiration? Please pull the other one - it has African drums attached to it.

Just reading this entire ENTIRE thread for the first time. Whew! Boy do I feel drained. Looking in from a limited outside perspecitve, the social fabric in the UKseems tobe in disarraywhen it comes to black people.
