Well maybe you should have gone inland where the Bajans are, and not on the tourist coastline.....
What were you doing in Barbados anyway? Tourist or visiting relatives?

This is the problem i have with Bim all the natives are being pushed inland, living on the worst land away from the action. The cost of living in Bim is terrible. How can the poor possibly live??. The Pm is selling land to EVERY blue foot with money to build golf courses and hotels. Gated communities are springing up everywhere. The blacks in Bim are treated with contempt...so sad. It makes me angry.

We are a small island, you tell me how we are supposed to make money without tourism...If you can do that ( and forget the banaaa trade that has already been taken from us and the rest of the Caribbean ) I will gladly take your suggestions to out government

lol im hating okay. Even tho i have family in Bim who say the same thing. Isnt it time that WE stop relying on whitey?. Another 9/11 and see how Bim suffers when tourists stay at home. Tourism should NOT be the backbone of any economy. the gdp per capita means nothing. There are many poor mainly BLACK people in Bim who struggle every day from the HIGH cost of living.

If people are moving abroad something is clearly wrong!!! AND shows that tourism is not working. Bims size has no relevance to anything look at singapore for example, which i believe is smaller than Bim, its ecomony is very diverse and increasing in size. You cant put your eggs in one basket and rely on whitey to feed you. Why cant Bim attract more foreign investment like a Toyato car plant to employee hundreads of Bajans. What BB needs is to be a TrADER rather than import everything. is bim really INDEPENDENT?.

But tourism is the backbone of virtually every island in the carribean, Trinidad and Jamaica included due to their small size and limited resources.
Can anybody name carribean nation that doesnt rely on tourism? Why single out B'dos?

Actually Trinidad's main export is oil and natural gas. Well this thread is about Barbados. And BB seems to bend over backwards when it comes to tourism compared to JA and other islands. Maybe thats why its cussed?
