Are we as Blacks, anti-black or anti-poor black?

Is this the problem with us? Can we really ever take a look at ourselves and pick up the peices? Has anyone heard anything since the State of Black America address? I know this is several questions in a row as I jump all over the place, however, all pertinent....

I am pro-black... too many people are down on us, so I choose to be for us, but only if you are WILLING to accept my help. Otherwise, all I can say is "Heaven help you".

We aren't necessarily anti-poor black.

As blacks in the West..we are just too damn materialistic.

It seems that colder the climate, the more materialistic we become.

It's all about who has the nicest cloths, the best cars, the most jewelry,the biggest house, the most shit to brag about.

If we don't have them...then we break our necks (and sometimes others) in order to achieve these goals and keep up.

Men sell dope and kill eachother over respect and money to buy material.

Women prostitute themselves and neglect their children just to look better and gain more material.

If we focused moreon character than material thenwe'd achieve a lot more and be a lot happier.

I'm pro-black but I do not tolerate:

1) ignorance amongst some blacks

2)lack of ambition amongst some black people

3)lack of respect that I see amongst manyblack youths

4)selfishness and the materalistic nature of some blacks

5)constant blaming of others for problems in the black community, like colourism, that eventhough was first introduced by whites, is being actively practiced by black people whorefuse to give up these practicesbut will gladly point fingers at whites for having created the problem.Why don't theytry changing their own attitudes instead ofblaming other people?

6)Many aspects ofWestern"black" culture whicheitherpraisesor supports mediocracy; materalism;violence and many crude behaviours; and any otherpractice which serves to hinder the upliftment of our race.

When I say that I don't tolerate ignorance amogst some blacks, I mean that I don't tolerate some black people who refuse to educate themselves on anything other than popular culture and are so proudof their lack of knowledgethat when youquestion them aboutevents that are going on around the world, they will proudly tell you that they don't know and that they're "keeping it real".Notonly are these people ignorant, but to make matters worse, theyhave no desire to learn anything outside of what they see on MTV and will call other people sellouts, whitewashedor oreos because they want to educate themselves.Thankfully, I haven't ran into too many of these people but I have met a few on occassion,my high school had one of them.
