First let me make very broad statement. All blacks "those who were born in Africa and those who weren't" care the well-being of Africans.

All over Africa you will find white missionaries preaching, helping the poor, the sick, the unfortunate, with the help of African religious leaders. All these missionaries have one thing in common, there are less an educated, western raised blacks.

After giving hard look, I find three groups that most fell into.

1. Let them "those living in Africa solve their own problems".

2. I was born in the US, Canada, England, France and ...., and I care more about here, or we have our own problems here.

3. I want to help, but I don't know how! Here is where I find most African Americans that I know.

It's time to find able black men/women to do what these white missionaries do badly.

How will future black generations speak of us "blacks of today"; Will they say we have done the best we can to improve the lives of every one of us, and make our race envy of the world instead of arguing which African language, skin, nose, hair, and countryis better, or will they say, as their fathers, and mothers have done before them, they have came and gone, with nothing to improve their lives, and our lives.

Missionaries have been in the continent before the colonial period, me thinks it's time to take their place and start better future for our unborn. Remember all missionaries are not dandy and all that good, their involvement in Africa must end soon.

Can you imagine how many more AFricanswould die without the help of missionaries. NO all of them are not good.............but all of them are not bad. And if AFrican don't do it, are we to turn a blind eye?

[size=3]The question should be "DO YOU KNOW HOW MANY AFRICANS HAVE DIED THANKS TO THE WORK OF THE 'MISSIONARIES'.
There has been some serious African blood spilled over the years behind the cloak of 'missionary work'.
There is a whole heap black people don't know about what has been going on in Africa, believe me!

Sorry Parris, but with respect your statement is based on pure ignorance.

Respect

There are those who feel that the only way to ‘prove their own worth’ is by ‘devaluing the worth of others’. You will often find that a man who is compelled to measure his substance against the substance of another, has little of substance in the first place!

My problems with white missionaries is not whether they do good job or save lives, but why those of us who are in the west don't take their place? Since I or youas an African hold better sway on African issues, more then the white missionaries do.

Many will die if missionaries leave is plain wrong, and I don't think it addresses the core problem with the missionaries in Africa or other parts of the world.
