An outline of some of the points or questions you would like specifically answered might help with more responses perhaps.

I go 2 a all girls school, the sucess rate is high but the teachers put alot of pressure on us students 2 get 'a' grades. My sisters now 18 but when she took her gcse' she achieved 7 a's and 3 b's she wanted to be a doctor the reply she got from a teacher was 'you need to aim for something lower your grades aren't good enough' so in that sense i hate the attitude of my school.

do you attend an all girl school by choice? And if you do what was the reasoning to pick an all girl school. I was told women have more chance at leadership roles and excell in sports, math and science in these environments. My research so far shows that african-american women do far better than their caucasion counterparts that attend same sex schools. Is it because you are expected to do better or is there an artificial atmosphere that promotes success that can or cannot be duplicated in the real world?

i dnt attend by choice my mum made me go as its a skool where u hav 2 take an exam 2 get in, you may not hav them in america( i ent sure)but its a grammar school so thier expectations are very high and they really pressure you, but u dnt get distracted with boyz n believe me i wud! but at the same time there are alot of lesbians, research even shows that many gay and lesbian people went to same sex schools.

@db111
My reasoning for going to an all girl's school was because the mixed sex schools near me were all rubbish or have a bad reputation and also I was following in my sister's foot steps.
In my secondary school out of the top six achievers at GCSE, three were black, two were asian and one was white.
We were expected to do better than most because we worked hard and had our priorities right.
What do you mean by artificial atmosphere? The teachers did give us pep talks and try to motivate us always telling us that our year was the best they ever had etc! They ran revision classes(apparently for free) during easter holidays. They were very dedicated, I don't know if this happens in other schools?

maybe artificial atmosphere was a poor choice of words. What i meant was when you enter into a mixed working environment are you hindered by lack of the social skills you would have developed in a "regular" school. One of the older ladies responded on a survey I sent said that she quit her career years ago. She was an engineer, she attended a meeting and was blasted for making a mistake. She later realized that she over-reacted but at the time she just could not work there any longer. She also later realized the other people; men and women there were able to take strong critism, and not take it personally. She said she never learned how to interact with males and found it hard to enter into adult relationships. I thought her case was rare, she attended religious schooling for her entire education process.
