What do you think about the high death rate (5 times national average) of mothers giving birth at Northwick Park hospital? I was reading it in my local paper, apparently around 28% of births are by caesarean section at Northwick Park, which is more than twice as high as the national average, or the london average.
They had the names of 3 women who had died recently at the hospital. two were asian, and one was afro-caribbean. IIRC a total of 10 women had died there in the past 3 years. I think most of them, perhaps even all of them were non-white. Which makes me wonder whether this is racial based? that black & asian women are more likely to need a CS operations than whites. I haven't seen them tie race to this. but Northwick park is a very non-white hospital, most of the staff are non-white, most of the patients are non-white, and most of the babies born there are non-white. Or is this more sinister? ethnic-culling?
I'd like to hear your opinions.
