Evolution over many thousands of years could be the answer. It may not be.

The world we live in has many different colours, sizes, and shapes of every single living thing... animals, plants/flowers, humans... In evolution it's suggestedthat darker skin colours came from man being exposed to lots of sun, with each generation getting darker and darker. But then, why do Eskimos have fairly dark skin if they have their bodies constantly covered with furs? Could the sun still change their skin colour?

There's only one skin colour: a brown pigment called melanin. We basically all have the same skin colour, but we just have different amounts of melanin. If you only have a little melanin, you have white skin. If your skin makes a lotof melanin, your skin is darker. Brown skin comes from all the variations you can get between white and black.The Chinese haveslightly thicker skin which gives their skin a yellowish shade. Melanin is produced by cells called melanocytes. It is produced to protect the skin from the Sun's harmful ultraviolet rays. If you have light skin (little melanin), a lot of sun can give yousunburn.Dark skinned people can also getsunburn, making their skin even darker. Take away the sun and their skin colour returns to the original shade.

Maybe we all evolved from a white man, maybe a black man, or maybe a medium skinned man. Is it possible that we could get all the skin colours from just two people, Adam and Eve?... Yes... using simple genetics that is possible. Melanin also determines eye and hair colour. How we get our eye, hair and skin colour is through the two sets of genes we are given by each of our parents.Genes which determinecolour can request melanin to colour eyes, hair and skin, or remain silent.The combination of genes both parents have determines the colour of their child's eyes, hair and skin. It is genetically possible for two medium skinned parents to have the full range of the world's skin colours in one generation, within the space of say, 30 years.

Michael Jackson, in the space of 30 years has changed from black to white skinned, thought to be due to Vetiligo- an autoimmune skin disorder caused by the attack of the immune system on the pigment-producing cells within the skin. The loss of the cells responsible for skin color result in milky white patches on the skin surface. He may have taken a prescription bleaching agent to gradually and permanently remove the pigment from the skin because he didn't want to be covered in white patches. This medical condition shows another example of what is possible over a short period of time. The drugs just sped up the process of a black man turning white.

Through acceptingwho we all are today, that everyone is different for whatever reason, and getting on with our lives, it is not that necessary to know where we've come from, but to concentrate on where we aregoing, together, as the human race.
Instead of allowing skin colour to be something that divides us and causes hostility between us, we should celebrate the wisdom and design that shows us that we all have a common Creator who designed and planned for us, and equipped uswonderfully to live on a planet that has varied conditions and environments. Our diversity is a great apologetic for the wisdom and planning of God.

I was told by my friend who said his grandmother told him that white people were the devils children. Apparently according to him they used to be black, but oneday because of their bad ways their melanin was drained from them and they were banished to live in the coldest part of the world(i guess Northern Europe) where they were deprived the friuts and luxeries of the tropics. If they ever dared return to Africa the sun would burn them alive.
