Well its easy to focusmainly onSouth Africa as the main cities there look comparable to other world major cities. Try find some from say Ghana, Congo, Zambia or Uganda.

Most people can't name 10 African countries off the top of their heads and don't even realize that South Africa is considered as one. So i dont think the location would even be an issue, seeing how so many people don't even know that there actually ARE modern cities somewhere in Africa. You should read some of the ignorant crap that people go on and on about when it comes to the place. it's ridiculous.

some of that might look good, but realistically once one embarks on a search for more such pics one comes upon the reality there are pics of African cities that look dreary, to say the least. the African city dream went terribly wrong because Africans started off imitating the Europeanmodel of designrather than working from an African sense of design, like the Asians based the design of their cirties on atraditional Asian sense of design, with a measuredborrowing from other sources. there are a lot of things one can do with the African traditional artistic taste, with a hut, for example, with the help of modern technology. African cities should have had a distinctly African feel to them by now, and would have been attracting attention. that monkey see monkey do thing will never do.

it's not too late to turn around though...

True, but there are some countries that have African designs, more could be done though
