Why is the word asian in the white name called (Caucasian)

The term Caucasian was at one time used for all the finer types of the fair-skinned division of mankind.

During the migration of Israelites into Western Europe, many Israelites passed through the "Caucasus Mountains," thereafter others called them Caucasians. The reference to the word Caucasian has now come to be associated to all people of the white race, but it is now politically incorrect to use the "Caucasian" or "C" word, to refer to one's race.

Caucous because the myth or reality is they came from the caucous (sp) region/ and Asian because its geographically in Asia.

I think its a fair question.

It good to know the root of words inthe Englishlanguage. After all the language does not stem from our history so its important to know the meaning and root of the everyday words we use. Alot of the original meaningsare derogatory to Africans.
