I've been getting my haircut normally regularly by this brother, who normally hooks me up right. But this time, this dude really put a number on me. He cut my hairline back so far that it looked like I gained another forehead. I was noticing him concentrating on my left side of my hairline more than normal. Now I have a gap in that area so big that I look like I'm being prepped for surgery. I understand barbers arent always perfect but this dude really did me wrong. I'm wondering if he had some kind of beef with me that I didnt know about. My girlfriend doesnt think that I look "that bad". What does that mean? That bad? The good thing about hair is that it grows back but....why me? Out of all the people that he give masterful cuts to, why did he have to jack me up? Why not the person
before me or after me. Then he wants to give me the pointed sideburns. He's got me looking like "Ming the Magnificent".
Then he wants to act like nothings wrong as if he hooked me up as usual. Anyway I had to vent my frustrations to my blacknet fam....

You are not the only one bro, sometimes barbers like to get all artistic byt adding extra touch, but when they flopp they do crazy ish to try and make up for it, more powder around the hairso the line looks extra sharp, they move the mirror around so fast, that you wont be able to contrate, or even spin you away from the mirror, so you don't see the damage been done.

They use to do that to my sideburns, I ask for a fat sideburns and the guy literally shave me clean with some tiny pencil line.

SBlizzy:

I use to be a Barber a while Back and I can honestly tell that we just have bad days! Somtimes the Hairline can be tricky. The dude I use to cut next to would butcher those joints every other day! As the Customer you can't be afraid to say Yo! when you do my hair line do it like this, or let him know he butchered your shyt! All barbers have bad days but when I did I would give the next cut for FREE! I am good so that didn't happen very often.

I'm curious though, were you wearing a hat before you got cut? Were you Sweating?

Holla Back!

Nah..no hat, no sweat...He just messed me up. Period. .I had to go to church looking like this...He is normally good. Like I said, I deal with him regularly, but to say the least, I'm disappointed.

Let him know he wronged you. Do you have a low haircut or are you still rocking a Flat-top? If it is low you next hair cut should fix it, you can get a 1" against the grain and line up, if it is a Flat top you can get it cut with no front line-up.

I'm probably going to go "Ground Zero" and start back over...He normally uses a 1 1/2 on me. Trust me, theres no fixin...It's all good...He normally hooks me up right so I wont drop him. I will keep one eye open for now on.

This has happened to me a couple of times and trust me when you area black woman these kind of things can mess you up for months because it takes a lot longer for the hair to correct itself. Ahairdresser once jacked up my hair so badly that I thought she must have been paying me back forsomething I had done to her family. I cried and cried whenI got home and did not go out raving for time she jacked me up so bad. This is why black woman are so loyal toa goodhairdresser.I have had the same one for over 10years and everytime she leaves to go to another shop, I follow her. My journey time has gone up from 15 minutes to her first shop to just over an hour to the new onebecause to me its worth it to not risk looking like a freak or for some scissor happy sister to chop off my hair or burn it up with relaxer.

In relation to your situation you should have taken him aside andtold him quietly that you were not happy and let him tell you how he was prepared to make you happy again. If hevalues you as along term customer, which I'm sure he does, I bet he would have given you a free haircut next time. My beautician burnt my eyebrows with wax a couple of months back and I did this and got a free one as they don't want to risk me bad mouthing them. Like Masai said everyone has bad days and unfortunately you were on the receiving end but you should have said something to give him a chance to undo some of the damage finance wise.

Usually within a week the hairline grows in. You don't have to go Bald, if need be have him try a "1" or an "OA" against the grain. If you get cut every two weeks a one with the grain should blend everything in nicely.

Cant rock a fitted in church. Plus I'm a church usher so I am seen by a pretty nice size congregation.
