I have 11 mini cacti of all different varieties. everyone thinks its a weird thing to collect, but i just think they are really cute! (they might also thinks its weird because i actually give them names!) I espescially like the flowering ones (have 3). When i was little i used to collect smartie tops. Now that nestle have taken the letters off the back and made them all orange, who knows, my collection might be worth something someday(!)
So what weird or strange things do you guys collect? or maybe what some other people would consider weird or strange?

Define weird...
I collect many things besides comics and books... don't know if they would be considered weird though.

well if collecting books is weird i should be in a padded cell! alot of people collect comics and some are quite valuable so i wouldn't consider that weird. But alot of people think collecting cacti is weird because they don't require much. they are just small painfully spiky things that you can't even touch! but i just think the miniture ones are so cute.
So basicaly anything that people wouildn't normally collect is what i would define as weird. Or maybe something thats its considered strange for you personally to collect (e.g. a woman collecting things that a man usually would, or vice versa, or an adult who collects kinder toys!)

I recently got a baby cactus (eriocactus warasii) and was thinking of getting a few more. I don't think they are a weird thing to collect.

MB I don't think a collection of cacti is weird! Plus you only have eleven!
Well not compared to the people who have fields of the same plantsimply because they are obsessed with them!
Is a collection of text books weird?
I once knew someone who collected marbles - I thought that was weird!
I consider people who collect butterflies or birds eggs also to be one brick short of a load!

I need something that is not time consuming like cacti.
I've got a sci-fi collection, books and videos. Started recording ST:TNG on VHS tape in 1987. Now I have Babylon 5, Outer Limits, original and new, lots of movies, etc.
How long is it going to take me to convert all this stuff to DVDs?

There is an episode of the outer limits I watched once that was brilliant. It was set in the middle of a futuristic battle between earth and some aliens. This guy was a POW in a cell with some chick. Everyday they took the woman away to torture her and all you could hear was screams. They started talking and opening up to each other and one day when she was desperately hysterical and down because it looked all over for earth, he told her about earths secret fleet hiding behind the moon or something waiting to strike... turns out she was a spy who was put in his cell to get that info out of him... The "torture" and "experiments" were the process of turning her back in to an alien... HEAVY
If you have that episode you HAVE to tell me what it is called so as I can download it. Oh and the series and episode number if possible, thanks

@DrunkMonkey
The episode you describe sounds familiar but if I have it I don't know how I would find it. There's TOO MANY episodes of everything. Star Trek is up to 704 now.
I tried searching this:
http://www.tvtome.com/OuterLimits/season1.html
but none looked like the episode you describe. Maybe You'll have better luck.

ps - offtopic.gif but that's the trouble with collecting. Don't know when to stop.bighairlol

on no! my threads been hijacked by trekkies and sci fi geeks! i guess thats what happens when you put 'weird' in the subject heading!!! and thats not weird anyway. My aunt loves star trek and for her birthday a couple of years ago my uncle bought her the whole shebang on DVD. wasn't cheap, i can tell ya. Actually that brings another level to this thread. What are some expensive collections that people have? I don't mean things that were cheap to begin with, but worth alot now, but things that are expensive. I collect silver jewellery and when i once tried to estimate what it cost i figured out i could hav bought a car for that money! Anyone collect faberge eggs...!

This is not weird, but addiction.
Sportjerseys, mostly football!!!!!!!!!!! Own over 30.When I see or I travel,it's a divine right, that I have to buy a football jersey. ...........And these days, teams change them almost every year, keep buying them, and not getting rid of the old once.
