It's not often I swear, but if anyone laid a hand on my child like that I'd be doing time right now!

If I suspected my child was being abused, do you honestly think I'd instal a camera to catch the babysitter doing it? Hell no. I watch my child's reaction to people - no matter how young they are they can tell you my their mannerisms if they dislike someone. Mostly they'll cry when they see that person.

This "person" needs to be named and shamed, and banned from having her own kids, much less looking after someone elses. She doesn't deserve them.

I'm sorry, but if there's even a whiff that my child may be being abused, there is no way I'd put them in that situation again. It's like putting them into a lion's den. Supposing this time she actually killed him - and you could've stopped it by simply removing your child from her care......I couldn't live with myself if that happened.

Children, no matter how young they are, can tell you if something is not right with someone. I remember my daughter years ago being left with my friend's mother. After a time she cried and didn't seem to want to let go of me or her father when we left her (she was a year old). It transpired that she was basically left in the chair most of the day, and she was simply bored. We moved her pretty sharpish.

I understand what you are saying LadyVee. But believe me not all children can let it be known that they are troubled. Also sadly not all parents pick up on their child's distress if they do happen to show signs of it - (not necessarily vindictively - some genuinely don't realise).

But I am thinking that it could be equally distressing also if the child has to end up in court - no matter how child friendly. Then to have the perpertrator walk free.If a video tape could give more weight to the child's case, then isn't that a plus?

I hear you, Athaba, but in this case the child looks no more than a year old.

To me, the risk to my child is too much, but more power to the parent that can let their child re-enter the lion's den to prevent this sort of abuse from happening to any other child.

Alas, I may be selfish, but I couldn't put my child through such pain.

Well...can't watch the link/video..somone put another link if you can. Well, by the sounds of the convo, it sounds pretty bad. If anyone EVER harmed a hair on my childs head...I'd say nothing to them... but my cousins would simply 'pay you a "visit"'...and "coincidentally" I will not know why you have not turned up for work the next day... "coincidentally" when the police come round I will know "nothing" of the GBH that occured against you the previous day as I was "at work" ...and "coincidentally" when and "if" you come out of hospital any time soon, you will find that I have "coincidentally" hired someone else... and if you are lucky... I just might not send 'the boys' around again. Simple. People who hurt kids are one of the lowest forms of human beings imaginable... they disgust me. Beating a child? Not even a toddler...a baby? If I seen that my daughter was getting beat like that, at the age she is now. (3) I'd give her lots of soda and candy, get her all hyped and let her straight fuuck that chick up!!! I'd actually tie thatsitter down and let my daughter and her cousin pull her hair out, scratch up her face, bite,( <---- scratch that!
