Many well known theorists argue the cold war era was very good for the world. "we are going to regret the passing of thecold war" The Atlantic. They say, there were less international terrorism, less inter-state conflicts, and most of all two super powers rather one, which we have now. What are Ur views about this.
My take on this, is both no and yes. First on the NO,the idea of one super power doesn't go well with me. Where US have put strangehold over the rest of the world. This is never good for the rest of the world. They rejected international courts, or orders, rejected theUN, went to war without the support of the world, they bashed, lied, and have showed true colors of super-power. In the time of England and France as lone powers, this was more cruel, more disastrous tothe world, butwhat the US government have done last few yrshave went the same roots as these above mentioned have done.
YES,
On the other, the end of communism has done wonders to African Continent. Where both the US and USSR used as their staging ground. Remember in Congo, Ethiopia Vs Somalia and many other parts of the continent. So in this front the world is in better condition.
Many faces of the so-called Cold War. The fear the world will go Nuclear limited the use of force, for many conflicts that could have turned to disaster.
