How was AIDS really started?? I have heard a theory that it was started by white American scientists who wanted to kill off africans. Surely this isnt true!! Does anybody have any actual proof of how it was started?? that theory seems a bit far fetched to me.

Do people really believe that theory or are we blaming others for problems that are affecting our people in Africa. If the white man really did start off AIDS in africa, how comes so many gays have it? and how comes there is now an epidemic in china and thailand, how did it get there??? Even bob geldof who is turning his hair grey to help africans, states that the theory about white scientists starting off AIDS is rubbish, he said that on one of his programmes on the series hes doing on bbc1.and he is not likely to hide the truth, because he wants whats best for africa and africans.

If scientists were mucking about with dodgy virus's right this minute it wouldn't surprise me at all, but they are not going to admit it, then, now or ever.

No one knows how it started. I believe it was a virus that has been around a long time and it mutated, but I don't know that for sure, and neither do scientists who have worked for years on it.

Gay menwhere the first group that we know about who were hit by it. They got it because at that time many gay men were very promiscuous, and didn't practice safe sex.

Same as every other people gets it, mainly unprotected sex, perhaps with people who got infected themselves the same way, or by infected needles, blood transfusions. Wouldn't surprise me if sex toursim to Thailanad played a big part in it though.

People think they are safe with their long term partner, but you only have to read these forums to know people are unfaithful, they may regret it but the damage is done and sometimes they never admit to their partner they have done the deed elsewhere. Many prostitutes in the west become injecting drug users, and have unsafe sex for extra money, it's a vicious circle, and it may have played a part in the spread in the other countries you mention. All disease spread (not just AIDS) is associated with poverty and ignorance too, for obvious reasons.
