actually went to a bbq...................and a woman was saying " whats the point getting married, you will only divorce after 10 years"..............check this she was saying it in front of kids and most woman were agreeing with her"
I was like WTF
no wonder kids see marriage as negative....................
sad..........marriage is good for you...............if it is respected and used correctly...........it is the beautiful reunion of two stable adults to pro-create children ina productive enviornment............i mean just look at ME!..................perfect or what...................LOL

@bele
duno about millions
funny though
I never hear a guy say no marriage...............they tend to say "not now, maybe later"
but these women in the bbq..................urm.........................n o comment............
Bele
I tellyou why women are PUT OFF by marriage and not men..................simply the prospect of being a slave.............is not exactly appealing...................wrong attitude to have.............but unfortunatly that is what happened , the instatution of marriage is seen as a "endof life" for women.......................what we need to do is re-store marriasge to its original meaning.................." an equal reunion of two adults who in dual agreement produce a productive enviornment for children"..............

I'm not a ******* @ Bele although it's not a phrase I would ever use on somebody else. My parents married and so what? It's nothing I did or had control over.
Im not into stigma attatched to a child or person for something someone else did or didn't do.
Have stigma for unmarried couple if you must, marriageshould definately be more emphasised,but to call child a ******* is over the top IMO... can't help mattersin any way and is only a destructive thing.
Cuss mummy and daddy not baby...

Myself and my sis were conceived out of wedlock, but my parents are together and have been for about 25 years.
A religious friend of mine jokes about them STILL living in sin! What matters is that they love each other, live together happily and have brought up two respectable young women in a stable home environment.
A ring on the finger and marriage certificate wouldn't have changed anything.

@sooofresh,
Ok, I have seen stats about it, and more and more women are believing this.
First on marriage.Agree that it should go back as it used to be, as socially sanctioned bond between two people (m/f)and healthy kids.
What? Women see marriage as slaving? Shuuuutthat's what feminism has done, produced social theories that have nothing to do with reality!!!!!!! Wrong moral philosophies.

@Bele
urm no...............what feminisim did is bought to light the "unmarriage" way of marriage and how it had been maniupulated to benefit on person over the other............................................h opefully once it is bought to attention, it can now be fixed............................but that is another subject.
may I ask what are you looking to accomplish from this thread................are you looking for trends...................or are you looking at how children out of wedlock view marriage..........or if they will get married themselves....................

Sorry at work!!!!!!
Sooofresh, blacks must address number of out-of-wedlock births that's all.
Just look how many replies in hereand how many ............ it says a lot about our present dayblack family structure. I ain't redical, that jumps onto religious observation to charge others, when they don't have the same beliefs as I do. So I ain't looking this for religious prespective.
Nothing much, to show that when we talk about black family problems, we tent not to mention or forget, children born toout-of-wedlock, should beour number one concern, since manychildren end up with one parent house, and eventually in the streets. We must speak loud and clear, that having children without marriage is abhorrent and if we don't,that gives many people (mostlyyoung women)that there isnothing wrong with it.
@all,I hear gasp when one mentions the word b........! Why take it so lightly and produce kids born into ...., when it ain't?
