I like Hiphop because it is an artform where you can talk about anything, be totally expressiive i.e, Brotha Lynch Hung, Esham, Del, X-clan, MC Breed, Digital Underground, etc

You have people like KRS-ONE, Chuck D, MOS DEF and Kanye going around Talking and You have heads like Slim Thug, Trick Daddy and others doing their Thug thing. It has something for everybody.

I hate it because the audience is often too stupid to differentiate the fake from the plausible. Example: I had a co-worker that told me Mobb Deep were really killers and some other dribble..... Killers who rhyme about crimes and have millions........
Too many people go out and try to act out song lyrics, copy the rappers wardrobe, cars and other dumb shyt.

I like the Music. This artform doesn't require you to take music lessons, have a degree in Vocal arrangement or Classical piano. All you need is the drive, imagination, Fruity Loops, Cakewalk, a Korg triton, a drum pad, Virtual DJ software and a lot of other music and you can start getting paid. No million dollar studiio needed, only a $500 Mac Mini, a keyboard, software, Black Cd's and a Kid that can Rhyme or a Chic that can sing. Hip hop is simple, all you need is creativity to create something new.

Nothing wrong with the tool or the instrument. The medium of hiphop is cool. Probably my favourite music.

Its just in the hands of the wrong people with poor message and alsotoo many talentless players.

I was thinking about being a rapper this need to know what to do to get started.
[line]It depends on what you consider good. No MC from my city has seem a platinum plaque but I know many heads that are nice with words. You gotta have a passion for language, rhyming and story telling. Jay-Z's favorite subject in school was english, you gotta have a mastery of you language of choice. You have to know how to ride a beat, create a song. Where are you from? I would suggest you learn 10 new words a week and incorporate them into your freestyles, try to freestyle a lot. I usually get instrumentals and hone my skills during long drives. When I hear a hot track with a Whack rapper on it I turn it down and drown his vocals out and spit mu own freestyle over the track.

Location: If you ain't in NYC, ATL, Houston or maybe Miami you really ain't gonna get put on.

Taking over the world.....not ready for that. I been lucky enough to know the right people and to live in a city that held a lot of opportunities for a young person.

If you want to be a rapper start making your own beats, If you make fire tracks you will always get paid. Kanye did his thing this way, Look at lil Jon and Jazzy Pha and Timbaland.

I hope I helped some

I dont like hip hop at all--dont like the misogyny, the cursing, vulgar sexuality of it and glorification of trashy ghetto life

I like Hip-Hop because it talks about real issues effecting people, and it has so many elements to it. The DJing, Emceeing, Break Dancing and Graffiti makes the artform Raw, which is I believe the life alot of us as a people have been living. I like how rappers can build songs just from sampling a line of another song.

If people went out and looked for their own Hip-Hop they'll find that there is a lot of good Hip-Hop out, but if you wait on the enemies to give us the music then you will always be fed the wackness.

I like Hip-Hop because you have freedom of expression, You can rap about your life, make up stories, rap about ourhistory, and it'llall bebacked by a sample loop/chopped sample, Kick, hi-hat, snare and bass put together in traditional boom-bap style.

Has it's faults but people need to realise the TV won't show us the good stuff!!!

HOTEP!!!
