This example is a basic testament to how much we have allowed other people's business to take center stage in our lives. It sickened me at the amount of Blacks that discussed Princess Diana's death while this woman lived a dream life. During this time some kids were killed in gang violence and these kids who we all could have seen daily didn't matter because we let the media get into our heads.
Peter Jennings lived a storybook life, Fukk him! I care about the guy/girl that is not doing so well, that lives in my community and more importantly looks like me! Jennings and Princess Diana had a chance, someone who looks like me is usually born into misery. Something gotta give!
Say it LOUD! "I\'M BLACK and I\'M PROUD!"

Whilst staying on topic but discussing a different strand of it if I may, there is a disturbing reality that if you are a Black male or female and you go missing you can forget about full coverage on CNN,a picture of your loved one on the front of The Evening Standard or radio news bullitens(sp)
Why? because missing person is black and STILL only considered 3fifths of a human being.
Why?because if missing person is blonde haired and blue eyed or has the acceptable aesthetics, coverage of that person will sell more newspapers generate higher ratings.
Why?because images of someone that looks like the archetypal"girl next door"generate the ahhh factor"how can someone so pretty be missing/dead/raped etc, lets gather every possible resource together to find our prince/princess"
And then of course the irony is that 9 times out of 10 when the missing person does turn up they have been harmed, snuffed out by one of their own Princes.
There are 100,s of thousands of missing people of colour out there right now, chances are you will have never heard of one on the news.
Yet we all have a passing familiarity with the names:
Laci Peterson
JonBenet Ramsey
that chick Natalie missing in Aruba
Jennifer Levin
and the list goes on ad nausem ad infintum.
So the value of human life Timeline??? It only has value in the media if you are white and if you are black you had better be rich.
I aint asking for nothing, just open the door and i\'ll take it myself-James Brown.

expanding on what you said Jett Black...
Yesterday on my news the story of ONE little girl who died on the beach was the LEAD story, ahead even of the aeroplane crash in which 100s died including 48 other children. Now sure this little girl died in a strange way but how on earth can a story that belongs in the local news at best end up as LEAD on the main evening news?
The Israeli's were leaving the west bank and and big airliner crashed yet the first thing you tell me is about ONE girl dying on a beach?confused3

Im suspiscious of that girls death anyway. Something doesn't add up.
