Why not adopt one of the many black parentless kids here in America or Philly for that matter?

domestic adoptions in the US have become a pure nightmare, with open adoptions, parents coming back wanting their kids, the rampant health issues that are in domestic adoption but not so in the china program, astoundingly.
i wanted to but after much research it was a very scary venture

I take it you did not see the Chinese people here that had an adoption battle to get their kid back from some people who had adopted the child? It actually happened here in my city.

yes, as you recall i have lots of family in Mississippi--that couple gave their children to the foster system due to financial situation, with the intention of getting her/him back when they could. they were students. this is what I am talking about the system in the US policies that can lead to these problems
all the chinese children IN CHINA have to go through a process where they are deemed abandoned before they can be adopted. it is illegal to abandon a child so the birth parent(s) do so at great risk to themselves.
thoroughly done the research adn my youngest sister is a child welfare social worker in Mississippi, dealing with adoptions
thanks for reminding me of that incident

Dude why not African kids who make it here and are in foster homes with no parents? Now if there are some here, I know that there has to be a lot of them in the Northeast.

I would love to adopt eventually one day. I'd adopt an army of them - just love the little things! In the meantime, I'd like lots of babies of my own. But I can't see that happening any time soon unfortunately.
Tuckerereed - good luck with yours niceone.gif
But, yeah - why China?

thanks
China has the best adoption program these days. I would love to adopt from the US or africa, but the programs are not well in place in most places except Ethopia--and it is still very hard to adopt from there. in the US there are problems with birth parents, the system and the health issues.
china programs is very supportive and extensive, giving a short turn around time, plenty of children waiting without the threat of a parent coming in the picture and relatively good health withlittle orno issues of drugs, AIDs or alcohol addicted babies.
if it all goes well i will think about adopting a special needs child later

How do you think you'd be able to cope with the child's cultural needs?
Ladyday - you'll have your hands full with the one you're expecting and you'd already like more???!

Not that my own offspringwon't beblack enough, it's important to me that I use myresourcesto raise(specifically a black daughter) and benefit my own, so I will have no other choice but to adopt.
