You hear of the famous erotic dances like the tango and salsa that are practised around the world. But when it comes to the origin of these dances the black influence is left in the shadows.

In a paper i was reading a few years ago the writer definetely made sure emphasise a black man's success in the world of salsa but ironically, i heard that this has its origins in west Africa. The same with tango.

But the origin is usually supressed so it inevitably wouldn't be easy to find information on this.

Even the flamenco, i heard has its origins in Africa.

So when black Caribbean people and black African people dance in an erotic fashion many are quick to label it as 'dirty'. But these dances have been incorporated into many modern dances you see today. Even the so called Beyonce booty bounce has been taken from how black people danced and still dance to this day. But we are still the shadows of it all. No one is quick to celebrate the heavy influence black people have had on many dances seen today.
