Is Pan-Africanism simply taking all resources and tailoring them to Africa? Many take an attitude that leads me to believe this. I have read over many Definitions of Pan Africanism and came away with the idea that it involved Africans/Blacks throughout the world assisting one another with the same end goals in mind.

What are some takes on Pan-Africanism and assiting the Diaspora especially in light of this Hurricane in New Orleans, past Hurricanes in Cuba, Jamaica, Volcanic Erutptions in the Caribbean and more?

Code:
Africans/Blacks throughout the world assisting one another with the same end goals in mind.
I guess a major sticking point is that "end goals." Personally I think we have to accept there is no END. The future goes on forever. We have to accept the power games go on froever. What kind of future we have depends on how well we play.

Black individuals in the diaspora have the problem of deciding where their interest lie and how to serve them. We are all sent to schools controlled by others and the children are socialized to serve the interests of the NATION. Are those interests OUR interests or are we being brainwashed to be pawns. How many Black Americans died in Vietnam? For what purpose? What good does the fighting in Iraq do us? We are supposed to be manipulated suckers like the lower class Whites.

That is why I think to change things accounting needs to be mandatory for the palefaces too. Coltrane is largely right. The CLASS WAR cannot be escaped.

Pan-Africanism must address economics and technology.

I personally don't believe there is any such thing as "Pan Africanism".

The main reason being Africa is made up of hundreds of different cultures and values many often contradicting and opposing eachother and would never be of any true value to us as Black people globally.

It's basically a symbolic concept and another name for proposed Black unity.

Having said that, basic survival skills would be more beneficial to our people in America than the concept of "Pan Africanism".
Because as this recent situation has shown us, when times get desparate enough Blacks will turn on and attack eachother in order to survive just like everyone else.
