Actually now that you come to mention it again... I don't THINK they can.. I was under the impression that, the Police could only take those types of details ONCE you had been Charged with an Offence... If your friend wasn't charged then why did they take his DNA unless they were fishing to see if he had commited a crime elsewhere.. To be honest I think he ought to write requesting whether this information is likely to be kept on file....

You hit the nail on the head!! I'm not absolutely sure but I think they can take your DNA wether you've been charged or not.I've heard people stopped for minor driving offences having their DNA taken.

police take dna's and all that same thing happened to a guy i know,lets just say he was stripped naked and embarassed in the station claiming they needed pubic hair samples all this just for argument with his drunk white girlfriend what did she do? claimed rape as usuall.
ppl better start wisen up these ppl need every excuse to humiliate you.

Also he should press charges against that woman, give her something to think about.

I have learned the hard way not to try to "help" drunks and drug addicts. I say give em a little push... make them fall faster.

That is just terrible to hear and I know your friend will never help someone again as a matter of fact even I have learnt from this story I am glad you posted it here.

He should press charges against the women thats what I would do.
