I was on my way into work this morning and the bus was packedso I had to stand. There was a brother sitting next to where I was standing all suited and booted and he did not have the manners to offer mehis seat. I think this was rude and ungentle-manly on his part.

What ever happened to offering a lady a seat?

Lets discuss.

Brown skin... it doesn't bother me, I am healthy enough to stand up... the only time I get annoyed is when someone is pregnant, injured, or elderly and they are not offered a seat...

albeit controvesial, but what is the point of fighting for equal rights... but then need tobe given a seat on public transport...

chivalry in big cities does not exist...

As a child I was told to always offer my seat to a grown up as a sign of respect. As a grown womanI would only offer my seat to an oap or someone who waspregnant, I would not offer my seat to an abled bodied man or woman and would not expect anyone to do that for me. StillI must admit I do like some of the old fashioned chivalrous things such asman holding the door for me.

on the contrary I have been offered seats by both black and white guys..

Having said that I think the cheekiest thing is when a brotha does not offer you his seat and is obviously checking out your curves and trying to get you to smile at him or sumthin ! cheeky bugger !

I agree to an extent but the male and female roles need not be totally eroded just to prove equality, almost as insulting as a man demanding to go dutch on a date because of "equality" ,.... chivalry in my experience still exits but the occurences are so far apart its okay to assume its fast on its way to extinction..
